He was very good until he got injured. Hasn't been the same since.
-
I don't think they "got rid" of him. He asked to leave. We'd have done well to get £5m for him if we'd have kept him until the summer due to his contract running down.
-
Matsuki certainly has his uses but as you say, he's not an out and out wide player who will beat a man and ping a cross in. He's more of a central player. Surely the front 4 vs Coventry will be Edozie, Azaz, Fellows and Larin.
-
I think it's the kind of game that will actually suit us better.
-
I'd rather have lost tonight and not had Scienza get injured
-
The best we could've hoped for given the performance.
-
What a header!!
-
These are the kind of games he's struggled with so far. Just can't find a way to break teams down who play deep. We've supposedly got the quality. Is it the game plan?
-
Terrible night. Piss poor display and Scienza probably out for a month at least.
-
They've wanted this a lot more than us. We've been second best all night.
-
Losses away at Oxford, Blackburn and now probably West Brom. Just not good enough.
-
Edozie on soon surely.
-
We'll certainly see what Tonda is made of. I feel Edozie for Matsuki and swapping Fellows to the right is an absolute no brainer.
-
It was poor from Charles but the corner was defended horrendously as usual.
-
Bragg for Charles and Edozie on for Matsuki.
-
We are absolutely hopeless against teams that play a low block
-
I know a few were against it but given the yellow cards will reset after Saturday's game (and it's against Coventry), I would've rested Downes for this one.
-
Watford equalise in the last minute. Sheffield Wednesday just won't win another game.
-
Hull should be 4-0 up really. Edit - they've just scored again.
-
Given they were clear favourites to win the league they aren't having a great season really.
-
Results certainly going our way at the moment. Bristol City, Wrexham and Derby all losing and Watford only drawing at Sheffield Wednesday. Let's hope they stay like that.
-
My overall assessment so far is that he's a more than decent championship keeper and would be fine as second choice if we were to get promoted.
-
One criticism of Downes is he's way too emotional. Gets a lot of needless yellows for throwing hissy fits at the referee.
-
Miraculous is pushing it, let's be totally honest. He's now doing a very good job, but it's taken me a while to get over how he stupidly persisted with 5 at the back.
