If we loan him out he comes back with less than a year or even a year on his contract left he still will potentially run his contract down. Take the money for him now as in a years time it may be half. Juric i assume has told them he doesnt rate him enough and from what ive seen hes pretty lightweight, modern football needs a bit more physicality I believe, especially trying to get promoted in the Championship

It is a combination of loss of confidence and perhaps not liking IJ and his manner. He was obviously close to RM and he and perhaps Fraser are missing him a bit much. I truly want Downes to fit in as he could be good, but he does seem to have lost pace and bite

seems Downes doe not have the heart for us now. He really has been a disappointment this season

If you listen to last niights Total Saints podcast, you would have heard Alfie House (Echo) explaining that Sam only has about a year of his contract and so probably will run his contract down. Therefore take the money now, letting him go on loan will not help us as we will be paying wages and then he can slip off for nothing a few months later. Him and Meghoma came at the same time and we will have made about 20m for us.
