  1. he s always 100%right ......after the event lol
  2. True to form ' why can't someone else pay it '
  3. Harsh, but....
  4. watching the BBC last night summed it up for me.There we are talking about global warming effecting the weather and there were at least 5 crews flown straight in. The final sentence of the report said 'and scientists say that we may have more regular storms like this' MAY ffs ,nothing like sitting on the fence and not being categorical.
  5. of course it would be oh so different if we had revolution. The top party members would live in the social houses and run around on a pushbike I assume, we would all take it in turns to live in the stately homes. Steak meals for everyone each night and there would be nobody needed to do the menial jobs, and everyone would be equally paid and there would be no division.Lol Politics of envy have never changed and never will do. Get the revolution and the majority would be no better off, just a cosy life for the agitators and loudmouths who would gain, and they would be the ones dishing out the orders, never really worrying about the ordinary person. We in the main are very fortunate, and yes there is some awful corruption etc going on, but I dont think a change of our society and pecking order would help us at all
  6. You really missed out if you were not into football when you were 13. Football was my love for as long as I remember. It was the only thing that the teachers could use as a weapon as a punishment. 'No football for you, detention'
  7. CB for the first time. I have seen humility and humour in your posts, it made me smile. You are not a robot lol I will accept that you are right and we won't be relegated, now are you sure sure sure we will qualify for the CL ?
  8. Yes it also has the advantage of the enjoyment of being proved right,a double whammy
  9. I was thinking earlier how the club now have a strong mental belief and the last few years have given them a winning mentality. Somehow the fan base (especially the fans who have been going decades) need to find a confidence in the team.I remember in the 80s where I'd go to a match expecting to win, slowly that feeling is returning. It will take a lot more than flirting with the top 4 for a few weeks for me to get into the airy fairy we are unbeatable like the CB Frys of the world
  10. Funnily enough there were nut cases who thought we could make the. CL as well. It must be great in your world where everything is so sure, nothing can be ruled out mathematically at this time. Yes the probability is that we will not be relegated, but also probable we won't make the CL but let people have their beliefs or opinions
  11. If we are near the top after that run of games, then we will really be in the mix
  12. When was that? It must have been the early 80s. If you were getting 6 quid a week paper money ,you must have been delivering to Sandbanks and Kensington lol
  13. when you are facing people who really want to die as they believe they are going to a better place, you never know quite what they will do as they depart the world.
  14. Can you imagine it on here if the Saintsweb was around then? We have threads about 2blokes having handbags but those days!!, I do think the old bill enjoyed it
  15. yep you are right again. I doubt that it is just the reason though
  16. You can assume we would not go down, I am fairly certain that is the case as well, but not arrogant enough to believe we are fireproof. 45 years of being disappointed countless times makes me more cautious than many younger fans would be. Remember being 3up at Tranmere in the cup ,fans phoning up to buy tickets for the next round only to lose 4-3, Saints being something like 10points clear and going for promotion only for our star forward (Wayman) to get injured and we didn't win a game again and not getting promotion. Yes we are almost certain able to do both but I don't take it for granted
  17. Watching the fighting under the stands and on the Milton etcetera was always part of the match day experience. Not a case of a couple having a Barney because they were unhappy as a fan was leaving early, but mass fighting between rival fans. It was naive how the clubs and authorities dealt with it in those days. Pit was a period in time when young men had money to go to away games in groups and so the rival gangs would face up on the terraces.
  18. Do you mean on Facebook etc .
  19. I agree ,as long as it was not finishing in the relegation places aka Wigan
  20. it's not a case of not liking it,it is a case of who would be available and better? As for multiple teams with better, would Stockdale at Fulham or the keeper from Birmingham who went to Stoke and now on loan at Barnsley, both lauded on here. I have seen many keepers who fans on here have said get rid of our longstanding keeper only to fade away. It has been a comical ride, we had Paul. Smith and Blaney who would do better than Niemi lol Bart ,Gazza and others who would replace KD Only now have we a keeper who is better suited to be first choice
  21. ever since KD joined the club he has a section of fans who have waited in the shadows waiting to pounce on any mistake he made. His plaudits by his peers and player of the season awards are swept aside at his first error, and the told you he was no good posts came on here at any perceived mistake. Iam not saying he is a first choice PL keeper but he is a superb stand in. Yes he was shaky a at the start of last season but so was the whole defence, some would argue it was down to him, others could counter it was due to those in front not dominating etc etc etc. if he had let in the goal aka stoke and his distribution to Wanyama had cost a goal he would have been slaughtered on here. The man is loyal to our club and so should be given a little slack by people who always can't what to get their knives out for him
  22. he was behind a defence that is completely different to the one now. I can't recall what game he came on as sub but made a match winning/point saving save on the day. I don't think he is first choice but we are lucky to have a keeper that is better than A lot of clubs stand in keepers. No first choice keeper is going to sit on the bench in case Boruc gets injured.
  23. i haven't seen the goals at Sunderland but would Boruc saved them? It is pretty sad how KD is constantly disrespected on here. He never let us down and where we are due to him,And RL.
