Having the best keeper in the league is not good enough for many -
Did Kelvin miss the World Cup by staying?

Sad that a player who stayed at the club instead of going for a better contract towards the end of his career is so disrespected by so called supporters. Perhaps the opening post was a tad unrealistic but considering that 2 of the keepers who went played for teams who were relegated or in the scrap, shows the keepers are not that good.It is so funny when I hear the expression , 'He's a good shot stopper but' Lol It is like the centre forward 'he's a great goalscorer, but' There is not a keeper in the country who is good at all the criteria fans ask for. No keeper comes and takes the ball like Pat Jennings did in the 60/70's. he was able to command the box then as the balls flew in a slower speed and didnt move, the defences/attacks less wised up how to block the keeper.Keepers in the past could pick the ball up and didnt need to be able to kick well. I recall Shilts being useless at kicking out from the ground and he didnt take the ball at crosses that well either. I for 1 appreciate KD's loyalty and accept he is not great at all facets of keeping ,but he has saved us so many points over the seasons he has graced the side -
Unless he really does have a great strategy that makes them stronger longterm

Im not sure imminent is the correct wording

Green has always been a suspect keeper. Hart looks to have a confidence and arrogance that is what top keepers need. Sky put up a statitic today that Robert Green made more mistakes that led to goals than any other keeper in the league. Always looked on him as a hick, ever since his Norwich days. We cant worry if his confidence goes if he is dropped, it is a chance for the WC and so these things have to be acted upon. I would not have taken SWP or Cole over Walcott but that is utlimately Capellos call and he must live with it.

I think you may well be right.
-
"But if that was not accepted, we would have to try to sell the club in administration. ' Is that not what he should have been doing all along?
-
probably yep, mostly Yank owned whose profits go into the US economy and we get no benifut as a nation. I think I heard BP pay 6billion tax to our economy last year.So when your NI goes up to make the shortfall then dont complain. This is a disaster for in Britain and so we should hope BP come out of this not too damaged.

Im glad you are posting again more regularly, you must have regained your strength after your honeymoon!! He must be working to agreed plan, if not!!!!!! I cant believe AA would take any risk to himself, and his bosses/partners would be aware of the dangers he would be putting his own company in. Therefore IMO he must be working to the directions of another.

I believe that there is a bit of fear of saying too much.Jobs at risk now if people say anything that can be traced back. The problem with the saintsfc site it is too slow with getting the news out before people hear. There should be an instant notification on the site as soon as a player signs, not hours/even 24hour delay. I think also a lot of people with genuine info are sick of the 'sauce' and general disbelieving comments and so dont want to give info out, due to that.

well Antonio is not in the UK at the moment and so I doubt that anything is imminent.

SaintsWeb Forum Match reaction and pictures - Home side 5-2 Away side
OldNick replied to Minty's topic in The Saints
Fortunately the home team on the night, were the team that could read and took those words on board. Hence the hammering given to the away side.Nothing at all to do with my stirring team talk of course -
what about Minty or Al De Man? They have done some good ones the the Forum game. They might do the honeymoon night as well
-
well the same thing worked when they went to court ,and the lady judge believed it. So they tiry it again, I suppose
-
well having a points deduction that meant SFA is hardly true punishment for what they gained.I suspect 80+ clubs fans would swap what they have had in return for a 10 point deduction
-
I would love to be wrong and await the day when lots of my fellow Saints fans can come on and give me jyp because i had been. If as has been pointed out above that the only sanction you are likely to get is a relegation and no pointse deduction, can I have some of that because 4 wembley trips 1 cup win and 5 seasons in the PL would be worth that. 20 years ago most Pompey fans would have taken relegation just to make the 4th round of the cup. I am cynical that there is a will to open up the can of worms that is PFC (I forgot the exra C for city, but there are plenty of spare C's when you talk Pompey) I suspect the leagues will flex their muscles and take on the might of Salisbury and Chester leaving the real criminals to skulk away
-
That was the plan all along IMO. Then go and get promotion back to the PL. Then he would really ring the bell as the money to be had would be considerable. There does seem to be a lack of people really trying to take pompey to task. Even the FL seem to have at this time done nothing.

are Inter mad???? how can such a poor manager get another top job? Although Raffas negative football of attrition will suit italy

interesting revelations in the last couple of days it seems. The griffin thing looks to have put a spanner in the works. if it is being used solely as a negotiating tool to get AA to panic to up the offer would be disappointing. Anything less than a -10 points penalty would be a case of them really getting away with it.Real punishment for all the good times had would be relegation a couple of leagues minimum IMO. The new penalties that the FL are talking about will miss Pompey as they are already in admin. i still am reserving my judgment until I see what does happen in the coming weeks. it does seem a tad more encouraging that people like Storrie HR MM and co may be brought to justice. Westons news also makes one think that it is not going to be as easy as AA makes out.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer
OldNick replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Seems to be looking for a reaction and good at doing so. No club splashes out yet. Why waste resources paying players wages over the summer months. i expect there will be additions to the squad. -
Nickg you do Nicks proud with those gems.Lol

sad that our national team is not head and shoulders above a country that makes 'soccer' its 4th most popular game at best. Pretty pathetic really.
-
Im not sure who would be most insulted, to be compared in that way
-
So the club would not get the s/t money up front. Being cynical , a company providing the loan would know that trying to retrieve from the defaulters is an expensive business far more expensive that the money outstanding. IMO it would be human nature to push those back at SFC and say sorry these have defaulted now they are your problem. I can see the sense in your scheme if the club put to them 1300 fans and the total cost of the s/t's/. Zebra eg then pay the club the full amount and then they run each account. if it is defaulted then they would have to chase the money, they of course could factor this in, in their pricing. SFC would be happy as they had the money upfront with no costs , leaving Zebra with their interest but headaches if fans dont pay. Im sure if that second scheme was offered the club would be happy.
