  1. Fulham had the same situation recently when the press said Martin jol had the job but Fulham ended up with M Hughes. it was staed then that Hughes was not second choice, they got on with it and it is forgotten
  2. I respectfully suggest that we ddint think the compensation he was asking was due, not that it was. The club statement says they accept compensation was due, unless there is a belief that the club is lying, something that i would never adhere to
  3. at present the Scunny chairman is losing. he has scuppered his managers chance of moving to a bigger arena, his players will be unsettled as they know NA will be leaving in the near future. Both clubs are hurt
  4. but as soon as we approached them to talk to his manager he may have had an axe to grind. i had no axe to grind with Spurs/Man City? Sunderland until they unsettled our managers in the past. The Scunny chairman has his own agenda and may have misread how to deal with NC
  5. I suspect that NA was in poll position but i wouldn't side with the Scunny chairman before hearing our side. The OS statement was clear and cut down all the accusations. By recognising the fact that the manager was under contract and that the club accepted compensation was due pours scorn on the Scunny chairmans version IMO
  6. the9, you are normally the voice of reason! have you been taken over by an alien?
  7. again it is hearsay. Im sure somebody said on here they saw MLT at the stadium but i could have been wrong. The same rumour was about him at Wembley but then he was in a corporate box. i doubt he has time to go to games with his Sky commitment either. I have no doubt that NC is a difficult man to dela with though, but is mildly successful in life and so must do somethings right.
  8. but MLT is not banned as far as Im aware. What aobut the contrators?
  9. if we ever have negotiations with other clubs regarding a maanger i doubt that they will spill the beans before time. Phone up Bournemouth and get Howe he is on a par to NA
  10. I have seen the Scunny chairmans quote but I have not seen any of the contractors at Staplewood, benali and Sky's. What were they?
  11. I think brown did his chances by going to the media yesterday
  12. why not believe the club for a change and back us not the opposition. The Scunny chairman has been a loose cannon and is trying to do the best he can for his club. Whether that is more money or keeping the manager i don't know. His comment about Nigel shouldnt work for him, could be calculating to get NC's back up to pull out and so he still has a manager. We just don't know, but having a go at our club is counterproductive IMo
  13. 'is fully aware that appropriate compensation payments become due where the candidate managers are currently under contract. The Club has acted in an entirely professional manner and will continue to do so.' FF like yourself I want the club to act correctly, by the statement I have pasted from the clubs statement , it appears they agree with us both.
  14. Ken I see where you are coming from but to be fair NC/SFC have been consistant in not going public until all is done and dusted. In theory NA applied for the job, and we asked Scunny for permission to interview him. That does not mean we were to offer him the job and to be fair it is their chairman and the media fed the news by NA/Scunny Chairman/agent that has said he was to be unveiled. Now i do agree that the odds were, he was to be installed but we can only assume/jump to that conclusion. The club have left their options open with the statement and it looks that we will still have Wilkins in charge of the next game
  15. How can you say that is a good post if the facts are unknown. If the truth is what Scunny are reporting then he feels the same way as me, but in alll these things there are two sides to the story.
  16. we are all jumping to conclusions. That is the problem with the club running a tight ship and no comment policy. Rumour and accusations grow. Who knows the facts to really assess what has happened?
  17. I think NC saw my reservations earlier and so pulled out Lol
  18. you would have thought that before being allowed to speak to the manager clubs would agree in principle the amount required. Even if NA came now the relationship is already tarnished. Both clubs are a bit clucked up by this
  19. thanks for that. I assume you realised you'd get al oad of comments when you posted
  20. did he apply or did we ask permission to speak to him?
  21. i will tie a ghetto blaster to it if you like, the ball will be in the net before you hear my shout, although i do prefer to use craft rather than brawn in these things.i might even take the shots from 30 yards to give you a bit more of a chance
  22. “The Southampton people have been very difficult to deal with. “They are probably not the right sort of people for Nigel to be working with.' NC I suspect may not be happy with that comment. Pretty foolish as well as we can mess them up. If NA doesn't get the job his mind will be mashed and the team/fans will know he is on the look to move. I think their chairman does not have the whip hand. Saying that Im not proud of my club if they are trying to be clever in taking away anther clubs asset without compensation. That is not how i wish to view our club
  23. i agree Phil, the media raised expectations, unless Solent think Adkins is high profile for us.Lol
  24. you were offside and the lino correctly only flagged when you attempted to go for the ball. A correct decision by the man in line and in full knowledge of the rules. I don't have to pay anyone off, all i have to do is let lesser souls shake my hand and they are made up that i have deigned to let them touch me. You have a weak handshake by the way.
  25. they know that a dash back for PL riches is worth a shout. Chanrai is very wealthy and could easily put in a bot of money as a calculated gamble. The CCC is not that strong this season.
