  1. thanks, the Leicester fans will not be happy
  2. Is that true???????
  3. Johnny Giles hated him with a passion as well. I started going when TP Sydenham Davies Frank Saul (lol) were our forward line. Davies was our hero, but my fathers was TP (Charlie Wayman before him) He used to wind us saying Davies was rubbish and only Paine made him due to his crossing. then Mick Channon came on the scene and he became our new hero. Paine ruled the dressing room and LM had a bit of a power struggle it seems and survived some terrible maulings as the players allowed for some terrible defeats 8-0 at Everton being one. LM won that battle and Paine left the club.
  4. A little knee jerk IMO. Lessons yet again need to be learnt. Can you imagine what would happen if we ditched the top players and played English players from the CCC etc who 'have passion for the shirt etc' Lol The fans who called for it would go ape as we got mullered by Sardinia or Scotland. We only have ot recall our experience of 'playing the youth' here. I still believe it was a fair idea and had we had a little more luck and quality, it could have worked. Our away form was very good, it was our inabilty to get that one win at hom,e that made a lot of fans lose belief. In the main most were supportive at the games, to be fair but the wider fan base got very edgy and that caused more pressure. If Fabio had ditched Terry before the tournament and Lampard on the bench, and played Rooney and Gerrard in their best positions then we may as a team fired.
  5. if that side had not been wearing the Brazillian shirt, people would not be creaming themselves about them. I get sick of the commentators keep saying' Oh they are human, they just passed to the wrong player' We defeat ourselves before playing against teams like this. They do have some very good players but..
  6. He's a skate so he you can't have any self respect......that's good in a woman
  7. I think it is the type of women the footballers now have. They are all keen for self publicity and( apart from Rio's wife) that adds its own pressures and jealousy. The players should be allowed visits from their wives and kids but not as a circus like it was before. JT was out ofr form from the moment the scandal was exposed. Yes he is brave and if he had not become a footballer I could see him at the front of a NF march (IMO) What he gave us is little compared to what he cost us. His interview and his self belief of his player power would not be good in the dressing room. I recall the player power after Mourinho left Chelsea and JT no doubt believes he can do the same at international level. Players are there to play, not to give team/tactical decisions.Weed them out and get a TEAM.
  8. KD is not as appreciated as he should be IMO. i wish him well if he goes. Then we will see what we miss when Bart takes his place.
  9. How would you know what a Golden post constitutes, as you are a new member
  10. It seems to me that the squads morale changed after the Bridge/Terry saga. Perhaps Fabio should have dropped Terry and the poison that came with him. Up until then the squad looked happy but strangely the squad was not the same afterwards
  11. Is the opening post a mickey taking exercise aimed at people like SRS? Apeing the attacks on Cortese IMO. If not!!! Nobody likes change but I suspect if we went back to the old forum we'd be out of sorts wioth that one. IMO we have the best forum around and if you have ever tried to look around UI , it is terrible in comparison.
  12. I dont get the Rooney bashing. He is like Gerrard playing in the wrong position and hence made ineffectual. Lampard was put where he wants to play and that basically f####d our best midfielder. We had no pace/energy in midfield with Barry and Lampard, in fact a lot of the time I thought Barry had the ball r was chasing when it was lampard. They were so static and lumbering around. Heskey was the right sub against Slovenia, yesterday it was gross negligence, and to take off De Foe when you needed a goal. As for the 2 breakaways , even in the Forum game our players knew that you dont all go and stand on the edge of the penalty box bnut have players ready to stop a break away. Tery and Upson were at fault for the first goal, but if you watch James he back peddles instead of coming to clear the ball , it would have been an easy pick up if he hadnt run back
  13. I dont blame the manager normally, but this time I will do so. I fully agree the players need a lot of stick but it was always a mistake IMO not to include the raw pace of Walcott in the squad. he would have turned these defenders and he only needs to do it once or twice a game for it to work.I heard the calls for Joe Cole but can anyone say that he did 1 thing any good in any of his appearances? Barry and Lampard have no pace and so the younger midfielders poured through into our exposed defence. Swapping Terry into his wrong side just to fit Upson in is madness. The same by moving Gerrard to the left nullikfied his game. To bring Heskey on at that stage also ????? Barry and Terry were both caught in possession right up the pitch ,and the germans broke away and scored. Very sad
  14. Watched the 2nd half of Real football factories on Sky last night. What a sad bunch those fans were. All in their 40's+ and singing to the cameras , walking down the streets re-enacting their walk. Each crew the same. Not that id tell them they were a bit pathetic, Lol but what a great bunch they are. Last night was about the midlands, has there been anything about the south yet? As for Danny Dyer.............., was his crew from drama school, the Fame Acadamy crew.
  15. if she's that much of a cow, tell her to f### off and take him for a drink
  16. I take your word on that BTF, but if you can say hand on heart that you are the norm I'd be very cynical
  17. i can promise you (Believe me o not) that i had not read that item. A friend of mine who retired some years ago now, was working at a town hall putting in a computer system and the other staff thought he was a council employee. A few times it was said to him that 'he hadn't been off sick, and so should have a sickie' He is very disrespectful of these people who he calls 'glorified file carriers' as they just seem to walk the corridors carrying files from office to office but doing nothing. it may be very unfair and i dont want to offend true public servants
  18. Are you saying that Buffon is going to tun them down as well?
  19. I would think that ML would have more taste than that. It is a lottery winners pad IMO
  20. Andy i dont wish to seem as Im tarring everyone with the same brush. There are many magnificent people working in the public services. i think the major source of my gripe is the town halls. As i say a lot have got into bad practices that would not be tolerated in the private sector. I would prefer that the public sector employees made the savings by becoming more efficient and stop some the the waste. In doing so they would perhaps save a lot of redundancies. If a client contacts the majority of private companies and says that they are running behind would they stay on, for an hour or so, it is done without thinking, can you confidently say that if you contact the departments in a town hall there is a chance that would happen. in my experience you are lucky to get the phone answered 20 minutes before clocking off. Andy also may i add, the 'stress level ' thing really does get on my goat, they dont know what stress is. I will exempt people at the frontline dealing with the public in the DHSS offices, social care, hospitals etc, but not in the administration areas.
  21. you know Pompey will get permission, AA knows he will it is only us who think the FL will have the balls to say no. The Kanu thing yesterday, now 'we have no keepers' today, next week it will be that Requilme signed a deal before the end of last season and the league must have missed his registration. Pompey had proof as Corp Ho was on here and told us it was happening, and so they wil send copies of his posts and that will be signed off as well.
  22. Not a myth there were figures out last year stating that there are far more sick days taken in the public sector. As for a ridiculous sentence, it doesn't even make my top top 20. Your posts strike me that you had worked there, it may just be me that thought so
  23. It's a cunning plan, I said I was resigning as one of the Forum match managers before the last game.I was Nickh then. After our magnificent victory i was having second thoughts!!! Also if i decided to put my boots on and played people may have forgotten my posts from before, but then I notice my name changes on all those old ones
  24. yep and there were verbal agreements with all the players they want to resign but not for the ones they dont Lol i bet it wasn't on the 10k a week cap either
  25. or been thinking about doing Lol
