the costs of silver polish would not be extortionate of course, but for me seeing our past in the flesh would be great. It is amazing with a few mementos lots of pictures how a good display can be achieved.
  3. LM was IMO the first master in getting old top footbalers to play at the end of their careers and give us glorious times, this moved on to bringing some fine young players. He was before his time in that IMO and soon others took it on and it became harder. He tried the same again at Sunderland but for some reason it failed.

for a proper saints museam in the stadium.RL tried to forget any history pre his arrival, we now need the new owners to show they have a grasp of the clubs full history and use the wealth of knowledge we have and actual stuff to build something that shows our past stars.I heard about Charlie Wayman from my father but would not be able to pick a picture of him out and my daughter would not pick out pictures of my heroes as in Ron Davies Micky Channon etc etc. Please Mr Liebherr get it done. I know there are some great fans with mementoes that would be loaned for us to view, i5t justneeds a proper setting.
  5. 2 things about that meeting, the mood was always going to be balanced against IT, and if you talk about egos and the main thrust seemed to be about a picture of LM being taken down then i suggest it was on both sides.
  6. this thread shows why past members of any regime need to be kept away. I myself have great memories of LM of his time before he deserted us and will be thankful of that. If he had gone on and been successful at a different club after us he wouldnt IMO be in our boardroom or talking about us.He left us in the lurch to go to Sunderland (his home area) and failed, had he not done so I doubt he would give us more than a cursory glance. LM pre 1985 i salute and thank you with all my heart....being involved in the decision making team when Geoff Thomas was selected before the magnificent MLT for England I cannot forgive.Pathetic I know but i dislike Everton for Highbury, just a character flaw in me Im afraid. The only thing that has brought me around a little was when Daren Wheeler pointed out he stayed with us 12 years, for that I feel he did do a lot more than I had let my disappointment cloud.
  7. lets hope he has managed to buy his season ticket for this season. He may still have a box with LC of course.
  8. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4319, you ought to read Crouchies Lawyers post it is amusing. Egg on the face eh. Lol
  9. it was like we did and whilst I was there when we beat Man u , the memories of that day are more vivid. No doubt you have happy memories when you won obscure games and no doubt when you beat us 1-0 at FP, (the first time in my life I had seen saints lose to you in a competitive match)it meant a lot to you. You dont have to go and win a competition to enjoy the moment. Ho of course enjoyed the cup final as he's a johnny come lately and would find that special. Beating your local rivals in the last minute of a cup game in front of 36000 at their ground and seeing them sick as parrots, especially as we hadnt met for a decade or so was pure nectar.
  10. that doesnt worry me. I have had more ups than downs when facing them, and the wins are all the more sweeter. Never will it be better than the last minute winner in the FAcup , what a day. It was the moment that still makes the hairs on my neck stand on end. What was it 9000 saints fans enjoying the day.

If my memory serves me right he followed Dowie and Les Read. The club like us was in freefall and dint have a prayer when they got to tipping point.Such a similar striy to us in the last 3-4 years. I did expect them to perform so much better but wehen they sold Andy Reid they lost it.He was brilliant the season they played down here in the CCC, and ran the game, soon as he left they couldnt replace him
  13. thats why Ho hasnt been on, he keeps having to press redial to Pompey ticket office. Lol
  14. yep sean Davis, Diarra, Sol we are talking 2 seasons ago I assume

I dont agree. I suspect if you had gone on the Cov site after WGS joined us we would have the sametype of stuff and no doubt the Scottish fans were given the same thoughts abouts GB

reading the posts on the Charlton site is sobering. There again it is a football forum. How many listened to the sunderland fans about Kelvin? I will be cautious after reading that, but they are bitter and do mention his bad signings. The wages and fees of course are down to the team behind him not his doing.
  17. It is amazing they won the FA cup and some are deserting. I dont doubt all clubs have similar fans of course.
  18. Lol
  19. are we allowed to smash the carriage up on the way or on the way home? great idea by the way
  20. the men on here are bright enough to know that was of course the case
  21. I think Baj has a block appointment and probably fitted him in on that. If the forum match is anything to go by he will be on first name terms with most if not all the consultants.
  22. reading this thread now it is amusing
  23. and their s/t's are about 700. Lol
  24. you are a bad parent , how did he lose so many fingers?
  25. was he before Dowie or after him? I thought he was the disaster.
