  1. fans who were there, cna you tell me , did we try and get the ball in the corners in the last few minutes? I didnt hear commentary but was F5 ing it on here. The injury time just went on and on.A post came up saying Davis had the ball and we were well into injury time then we had the posts 'penalty' etc. How come htey got the ball back into our box and half?
  2. I think AP had hoped to be out of them after 6 games. It has been my concern all along that we needed to get off to a flyer. That is why I was more impatient than some about getting new faces in and the uphappy ones gone.It is still too soon to really worry but we need to forget all the 'we will make the playoffs stuff' Stay up will be an achievment.
  3. I assume the City section ios a sell out and they have to travel a long way
  4. DD you think Saga is class.Well he is playing and has yet to score in a league that 'he would score for fun in' Is that Pardews fault? I had only thought we'd go for safety and would at this time take it like a shot. Charlton finished last season on a good run and have carried that form on. We have been decimated and i think we are improving.Things will turn when we do get a forward who can score in this league alongside Lambert. Rasiak has gone and that will free up some funds, get Saga gone as well and we will be fine.
  5. How did your and DD's post get deleted??????
  6. What about Saga 'will score goals for fun in this league' how was he?
  7. the old smugness has soon returned i see.
  8. Seems some stupid ***** has made a false complaint. It would have ocst hte ratepayer plenty as there a swarm of police knocking doors asking for witnesses add to that scenes of crime etc.
  9. all the illusion that we were peoples 2nd favouite club certainly doesnt seem to be the fact with the refs in the last few years. Still 11 points from safety. We have to try and be strong and build from here.I am still numb but it is not the first time this has happened and watching the game on here on F5 I expected bad news as the injury time just went on and on
  10. a bit of waste all those empty seats!
  11. I think they will stay up, but only if they start to pick up points soon.If they get cut adrift and there is a 10 point gap it will be hard for them.Personally I think the Dr has made a no lose deal, and has been rather clever.
  12. We have found a news-clip on the Wiltshire Police website. At 21.14hrs on Friday 28 August Wiltshire Police issued a statement to say that the young woman had withdrawn her previous allegation of a serious sexual assault. The police state that the public can be reassured that no such assault took place. They will issue no further statements on the matter. Just an update further to this so called incident. I look forward to Dog's apology
  13. when the bidding was in progress it was not certain that there would be a football club and so that is why the council could not put us forward at that time.Portsmouth did. Therefore trying to blame the Tories is a nonsense as any council would be foolish to put forward a plan
  14. at least in rugby you dont get cheating
  15. Lol, I looking it as if it was my party.I'd do the whipping lol
  16. So do you think when MC deserted us for Man City he achieved the same heights as he did for us.personally I believe he was like a fish out of water there and at Norwich and he didnt achieve his stardom again until he returned to the Dell.So hardly a lesson for MLT. As for other careers MLT have carved himself a good living in the media. Not the top of racing but he didnt need to as much MC did as the rewards were even less in his days and so a secondary career was most important.
  17. As much as it was funny at the time Pires and Pompey was the same disgrace.Same team same manager, which is a shame as they play some of the best most beautiful football on the planet.
  18. thanks for the replies.i know that it wasn't my fault but to know some poor young girl has been attacked by a creep so close and i wasnt there to help frustrates me.im sure like most men Id be there like a shot and those type of people would run and not risk confrontation with a man. They are only brave against helpless young girls.
  19. thats what surprised me and him getting a four year contract
  20. I assume you got your A* for spelling your name right
  21. I had a knock at my door last night at about 9.45.A policewoman was there and asked had I heard anything as a young girl had been serously assaulted. My house backs onto woods in Salisbury and it is upsetting to know that i could have helped her if I had heard her calls for assistance. This morning it was sobering to see a large area taped off to preserve the scene of crime. We often hear people shouting either for their lost dog or kids messing about and so you become immune ot the shouts. Perhaps next time I will become more vigilant, and look when I hear shouting.Of course i dont know how close to us this happened but you cant help but think 'if only' Very sad and I hope the scumbag gets caught very quickly.
  22. NC I grew up with firstly Ron Davies being my hero, followed by MC and then MLT. Big Ron if push came to shove is probably my biggest hero not because he was the best but it was in my formative years where I forgave any of his faults and turned a blind eye to them. MC was great but he did break my heart as a 12 year old lad and decided to go and desert us. MLT came to the fore when I was in my late 20's, the dewey eyed he can do no wrong stuff was gone, and I was by then a cynical football fan. Yes he may not have run around like a headless chicken and tackle(Greaves sadi he couldnt tackle a bag of chips) but he was the motivation and hope of not only the fans by his teammates as well. He could have moved on, he didnt as he was of the mindset of wanting to be assured happiness here rather than the risk of being a failure/not successful and appreciated elsewhere.Money I believe is not his motivation and that is refreshing, i can relate to that and forever his footballing prowess I will hold. We even named our dog after him!!! Sad i know but it was if he was a part ofr our family and someone I could be really proud of during those years of dross. Ps I was in Florida and met some Brazillian football fans and when they asked what club I supported they all said Le Tissier. We had been relegated by then, but we were remembered for his deeds only. Show him the respect he deserves and forget his lack of business nous.
  23. I believe we have taken more beatings than an escort at a Max Mosley party. 8-0 everton 7-0 leeds 7-2 Liverpool the list is endless it seems. That has formed my mindset over the years and I like many when we were 3 up v Leeds a few seasons ago said to a friend we might get a draw now. Time has eroded any faith in our club winning and that mind set really will be hard to shift.I had hoped that the young players coming throuh had a winning mindest ande so would be more hardened against losing. it seems that was a forlorn hope.
  24. I do accept that the kids are notthicker and apologise for that statement. They are not brighter and I would say the exams are getting easier to pass IMO or to get a decent grade. Most of the young are great and I enjoy their banter, I probably should be aiming my ire at the government who take us all as fools trying to make out the system is getting better year on year.
  25. if I did it would be down to the education system in Botswana, Zimbabwe, New Zealand etc.
