Have i missed something, is Holmes still not at the club?
-
Yes the respect is well earned. It is silly to worry that not only have we sold a few of our players but we are starting on minus 10 and that it seems we have not as yet replaced them. Whilst i have faith in the new regime it is not strange to still be concerned. Millwall is a tough start, even at home (the last time I can recall winning the first game of the season was in the late 1980's with Colin clarke scoring against QPR) This time next week we may have 2-3 new players, but they will not have played in the team by then. It is not ideal but lets not worry, and just grin and bear it. The OP is fair and it is to all our benifit that the team is strong and starts well. This site is slow and so threads like this at least gets people on here posting.

i think there is fair reason for both sides to be correct on this.We are on -10 and need a good start. If we are 15 points adrift after 3-4 games it becomes more of a mountain to climb and players will be loathe to join us. On the other hand it is better for AP to take his time to select as we dont want to rush in and regret later. I myself expected to have had 2-3 more signings by now, it is not a case of wingeing but a case of hoping we would be seeing the shape of a new team forming that would in turn push us on.

there wasnt a game they shouldnt have, but cup luck really favoured them that season. From home to Plymouth away at preston Man u and even the cup final

Um I dont doubt it, the ref was under orders and even if they had picked the ball up on the halfway line and then ran with it rugby style to the net it would hve been given

Sportsnight with Coleman 5 a side. FA cup against Manchester United the glamour and most exciting team of its age. and yours? FA cup against Cardiff (with a squad that had been bought at high cost and wages)and CCC when all other clubs had been neutered by the collapse of ITVdigital and you had a lot of money to buy you promotion.

You have posted the reason you ended your career already hamster, it was being caught with the ball by Drogbaj in your own pen area so we got a penalty. The flints were robbed and the lack of any defence by your team underlines the embarrassment they feel for the way it was won. -

I cant wait to see the goals. -
I love the way you try and knock a identikit stadium, you'd kill for 1. Lol. If the new man doesn't get you a stadium pretty soon I doubt you'll ever get one. No need to get 1 if you start to get lower attendances (which I suspect5 will happen this season) or if you do indeed get relegated.

I myself accept Pompey were a big club way before I was born.In the late 1930's then for a short period in the 50's. Then there was a downward spell of 50years +. For various reasons you have been the runt of the litter and for the last 3 years have been housetrained, the dirty side of the club has been covered by your PL status ,an input of star names purchased and of course an FA cup win that was seen as lucky by many neutral observers. You still won it and that cant be taken away.I wish we had played Cardiff and not Arsenal in our final. To people over 80 and below 10 I suspect Pompey would be seen as the bigger club, but to a large proportion of people in between we would be seen as the major club in this area.I dont believe either club is massive and never likely to be, look at Notts Forest European champions twice and still not seen as massive. No we are both provincial clubs and Saintds viewed by the population on the same level as Ipswich and Coventry and Pompey as Wigan.

Hammy was like Gazza on crack in those first 5 minutes. 'Whay man' thwack 'Sorry' , thwack as he mistimed another tackle. Never mind he's a good lad. -
His s/t take up has never been far off the mark ever, his mate at the club tells us that they have sold 12k already and expect to get to 16k.Remarkably considering that after the high of the cup final they got 13500 s/t's and now with the side ripped out they will get another 2500 more. They are dim down there but....

When are we going to get that egg on ours faces re the Chinese takeover, guarenteed last november. As for the latest one I read on teletext that Solent said it was going through and lawyers were reading papers. Perhaps now that gaydamek has taken plenty of money out to pay for his debts, the arab can now buy you for a £1, just like Venables did all those years ago. Do you think HR will come and try and get James, IMO he has been the best keeper in the PL for 2-3 seasons, he would be an almighty loss if he goes. You can cope without Dustbin and Sol, IMO I await the Nicknack stuff Lol

I think i can recall something about, if we get the WC the FA were going to help fund their big stadium.I dont want us to host the WC anyway but this makes me more against it.
-
But it is a positive thing not negative IMO. If we cut our cloth and grow through our own wealth creation you have a long term future. ML is not a young man in the Ambramovic group, and we dont know what provisions the club have if god forbid anything happened to him. Therefore if the club is strong on its own feet we wont have the spectre of financial woes again. Why is being prudent seen as a mistake in our society nowadays? I do expect him shortterm to feed some funds in but I do not ever expect to be up with the Man citys and Chelsea in buying star players. That is all

The9 was nearly cut in half, right by the managers as well. I recall Phil shouting 'Play the man Hammy' -

Funnily enough it wasnt just you who couldnt wait and tell me that the interviews had been mislaid. Passing on bad news does move quickly on here. Anyway it is fairly evident that it would become common knowledge as soon as we watched the DVD. I notice that you are leaking clips to whet the appetite, I did think it was mean of the editors to put up DrogBaj's age afterr he scored he does well for 77 and so perhaps that would count for his injuries. -
Who was sitting next to Pardew at Farnborough game?
