  1. A.) Yes if the results he achieved were the same as hisstrike rate lasty season.Forget not LC had taken a knife to the squad like we had to he would be working with less quality. b) Yes if we played like we did against burnley home, Coventry home, Cardiff ,Hull away, but no if we played like we did against BC and SU home. c)Yes if we were doing so badly (I dont believe you go to watch the directors box) no if we were doing well d) LC not sure , LM most definately(that 1 you will never convince me otherwise)
  2. A lot of these things have been bequeathed to the city. It makes it difficult for the council to sell them off.I personally would love them to sell some of these thigs as they are not on show and deteriorating and will be lost long term.
  3. Is this a joke thread? We as fans have complained about previous regimes keep changing the manager and it seems every 6 months we have the wish to change again!! It is so ironic. In the last 3 seaons we have wanted Every manager gone even though we had the posts saying, we must give a new man a chance.Patently we dont mean it. Paul Ince by the way
  4. Lol , I have no illusion that was not the case, especially with Jan.
  5. At times you really could be called Smarm Pahars because you cannot help yourself. I have tried to be decent and reasonable and then you put up such comments. Yes NC did say that attendances had declined under Crouch and that was wrong but had the boot been on the other foot you would have rightly held up the SU game as a freak. It was a freak attendance and even if we were in the PL that attendance would not be attained. To try and deride my post is below the belt, as it was right to point it out. When I have put up stats regarding NP's tenure i have never put in the Plymouth home game as it was not fair as whilst he was manager he probablty did not have any input, apart from inspirational pre match talk. Ialso refrained from putting in FA cup defeats into stats regarding LC's first choice of replacements as again it was not fair to have one off games added.
  6. Even you will concede that by having the SU game on the stats it would skew the figure. Probably not enough to make a mssive difference but perhaps by 2k a game. Again you dont get it, I saisd we played more attractive football under Jan , not effective but more attractive, dont twist the wording.
  7. the first bit is correct, but you react to situation you face in business. It was paramount after the relgation had happened you make plans to suit the budget. It is clear to me that the Wilde bunch spun the wheel hoping for black but the ball drooped in the red. What followed was a juggernaught out of control. Add to the fact the bank moved the goalposts and then we were in the mire.Had the bank kept to its 5m overdraft as it had asked we would have been ok, at least until the end of the season. if anybody on here had a mortgage and they asked for a third of the money back immediately not many would be able to stump up either
  8. Not at nil , there are loan fees and appearance fees add to that the wages they would be on as they were associated to these big clubs.Yes they might subsidise them a little or as much as half but still it is major money. If it was so easy why dont all clubs loan from them? It is due to the fact that MM has bankrolled the club. The credit to NP is that he has targetted those players who seem to have done well.I dont know how many games they have played, but they had a decent squad when they went dowmn let alone the extra signings.
  9. Um if you took out the SU game or then worked out the average what would it be then? I think it is fair to judge the SU game as a freak much like this seasons Man u game.
  10. Man u and Arsenal do not need to loan out players on the cheap. They have many clubs who want to snap them up and so whilst i understand your point about Pekhart (who was returned very quickly) it is chalk and cheese.Mandaric has bankrolled the club and they have the advantage of playing some super young loans from top teams, who would almost certainly get into our starting line up. I was not saying Jan was any good and am disappointed that you think i was , but the actual football and passing game was better under him until the last third. That is an observation as i like to watch proper football, with players passing and admire it when it is done properly. Sacking the manager when you have made the mistake in time is another thing you have to be good at. Run the clock back to the 70's and were Leeds correct to sack Clough after 40 odd days, should our board have got rid of LM when he had an appalling record that got us relegated and the following season we were not much better. Can you imagine how he would have fared on here in the way he treated Terry Paine who were that generations MLT? Lowe is gone and I look forward to the day when he is not the focus of ths foums debate.it will take sometime for that to happen but he and hopefully people like Askham will be gone too and then we will be able to focus on football.By then the spectre of NP's progress to the PL and England management and you and others will be able to tell me how great he is. perhaps he will be our Clough, that Leeds missed out on.
  11. I have no doubt we will play a very attacking team on tuesday and have a gung ho attitude as if we avoid the points deduction we have to win.
  12. I didnt hear it but wouldnt be surprised.Im not sure theor position is safe yet, I dont think their alleged takeover has gone through again has it?
  13. That is a fair point, some , probably thousands went so they could watch the man u game. Still shows it was due to Lowe they weren't turning up. The sobering thought is a large proportion of supporters will only go if we are doing well. I myself have a lifetime subscription to be a fan who turns up and am stupid enough to have got the SFC in your blood tranfusion that is irreversable. Be it Saints v Man U or Saints v Unglamourous 11 i go to support Saints. I know Im a mug and get what i deserve but it is my choice. It is not a case that I believe Im a better fan but perhaps more committed than some (should be commited I can hear some say). Not as commited as our wonderful travelling fans though.
  14. IMO he has been the archuitect of the last years of unrest.A man who kept Branfoot even though it was abundantly clear he was useless. A man who let the club nearly lose its place in the top flight as he wouldnt get rid of Branfoot and only MLT's magic and Ball getting that ou saved the day.Had that not happened we would be L2 now.Add to that his part in the reverse takeover then you may see why i think he is the face of our demise.Lowe was just his man at the front IMO
  15. Very good research again Um, but I do know 1 of those loans is in from man u , and so the fees and wages would be highdont know about where the others are from) Mandaric has bankrolled Leicester for just under 10m this season alone. It is the Pompey model all overe again, not a level playing field.NP should never have left for the reason that he had united the fans and there was a hope. None of us will know whether with a much depleted squad he would have fared much better. Yes he may not have bought Gasi Morgan etc but he also would not had the very experienced and highly paid squad he used at the end of last season. Lowe made a massive mistake in Jan (although the football played was far more entertaining than we have had for some weeks now, and better than wee had last season as well.) and should have changed him sooner. There's me a fan wanting the CEO to sack the manager , something he gets stick for, odd isnt it?
  16. he was far superior than any of our other attacking midfield players and fought to try and get something.. You should be showing your frustration on Saga who was poor.
  17. Mick very good summary from my point of view.
  18. Fair points but it is easy to pick out the bad (there is a lot of it to choose from)I myself will not criticise the radio station.I liked the thought of pro saints stuff being broadcast and there would have been invisible earnings from that.At that stage we had good income and it was forward thinking.I know how Id feel if it was Pompey radio broadcasting over us.The managerr payoffs of course were expensive but the manager turnaround was not down just to RL.We had some who started the rot by leaving us.
  19. Ginge normally I wouldnt worry but yesterday we were there to show the world our support of the club, to turn up and then desert with 25minutes to go was unworthy IMO
  20. Thats fair, but perhaps the packages may be a clue although I do fully conceed that Lowe had made his mind up that NP was a goner. It is something that i was agfainst as you know. Bad decision made and then we had to get on with it.Keeping Jan 5 games too long was my biggest gripe. I know Im mad but I still cannot accept we are down and hope something will happen.Foolish i know but... i will still be there next season Iam sceptical that 40% of those there yesterday will be. I was a little surprised that only 27k turned up my expectations and hopes were higher.
  21. The arguement why we are is yet to be fully uncovered. On the face of it yes you are right as we have gone into administration.Only when we see the facts and figures will we be able to learn more.
  22. Will the clubs finances and mismanagement etc be able to be seen now? It will be interesting reading and perhaps we all could become clearer where and why all thesae things happened.
  23. I wonder if Fred Goodwins pals have set up a deal for Askham and co, am I being too cynical???????
  24. You spend it on your famiy they deserve it as if you are of the same mindset like Iam after another defeat they deserve that and a lot more. I must say though yesterday I was very calm and have not had a sleepless night, very odd indeed
  25. You underline the problem that saints fans have and what the broadsheets are reported to be saying today in articles. We cant afford and havent been able to for a long time but have carried on regardless.Having 3 or 4 young players is not unusual and the ones who are counted as young are now in their early 20's except Thompson who really should be in the reserves.
