Lol, at least you get my drift.Anyway the locals are getting uppity and so Im moving.
-
I came, I saw, I fuc### them up
-
It was reported on tv.
-
Badger if you had an ice cream business and the fridges packed up and it was all melting away, along comes somebody comes along and wants to buy the lot what would you say? Well thye are £1 a scoop or think this is my chance to get out and let them go at 5p or 10 p or whatever he offered.
-
Well if they were so weak minded they dont deserve to be part of any board. What a pathetic bunch they must have been if they didnt have the balls to stand up and be counted.I suggest that it want the case as if I recall the board outvoted him regarding Hoddle.
-
They didnt come up with the goods obviously. There was talk of somebody on the eve of administration but couldnt get the funds together.Another Fulthorpe it seems.
-
I suggest that we all backed the wrong horse one way or other.Wilde got his way in on the back of a populist wave of fans support, he then in turn called him back.No punter comes out of this feeling too clever.
-
Rebuffed by the board, but i thought they weren't interested because Lowe was there? I assume SISU was one of those, and to be fair as I dont know what offers the paper is meaning they didnt say RL did but the board which could have been over the last 2 years. Would it include barry the Briefcase? It is hardly specific is it? As I say th3ey wouldnt turn down offers if they were going to lose the lot would they?
-
Ginge are you for real on this? RL a man who is backed by Askham who have a common interest, money. They can see the books, and we were losing over 30k a week. Even a school kid can work out that if you are losing that week week you have a very shaky investment. So along comes MR Moneybags who doesnt worry if he loses a few million.Askham and Lowe say 'Go away, our shares will be worthless in a few months so we dont want to sell them.' It is nonsense,I dont mind some well thought out replies but that is a plain silly. As I have said i can 100% guarantee that RL was showing prospective investors around the club weeks and weeks ago.

I agree the product on offer was lean, so all the fans back saturday you admit wont be there next season as the fare will be bloody leaner than on a spoon in a soup kitchen
-
If we were gettinmg 28k crowds it may have prolonged the inevitable, but people would be more inclined to invest.
-
Dream on Mike.It is a fallacy that he blocked investment, he with Wilde and LC did not agree to SISU as they wouldnt answer pertinent questions. I have long held the belief that the Paul Allen deal was held up by other respected people at the club, many scoff at that but I believe it like you do RL did the same.I do know if the PA thing is true and that the people dithered and couldnt make their minds up is true anything RL did wrong is nothing. UMp has put forward a very good case it wasn't true but from people i know that were on both sides of the board were very much believing it was the truth. I wonder if ever there were minutes of meetings that could now be accessed?

I understand your point Docker P but dont get too comfortable with some of those returning fans saturday as they will disappear again until the next train crash is going to happen.Pre Sheff Utd last season what was the average 22K last game 32000 , new season 19k (yes there were factors to account for that) saturday when we look as we may only play 3 more home games 30k , if we are saved or relegated back to 10k-15k. i dont care who i sit to if they are saints fans as long as they are there good and bad. Welcome back to every one of the returning fans but this time you have no excuses not to keep coming back week on week.
-
I wholeheartedly agree with point 2, even though his record was not good he at least had the fans behind him.If we had only won 3 in 17 this season then the crowds would be pretty much the same as now. Whoever was in charge would have to make massive cuts and it would be interesting how LC would have done so.Very difficult for whoever was in charge and having to reduce the overdraft by a million in these times is even harder. RL kept Jan too long, but cutting the clubs costs was thre only way forward.

We had days of adulation and how the investment would roll in as Lowe had left, the ground would be full .....and then where did it get us.Again I dont want anyone but Lowe but something that will give us a future.
-
How do you know that? On the eve we went into administration the story doing the rounds at the club was that it was easier for a takeover to happen if we had done so, a bidder was sniffing as you may recall but couldnt get into positon even though they extended the deadline. It was nothing to do because of Lowe. Frankly i dont care who takes over in our present position as we dont have any choice now.Fans who wanted admin are now going to see exactly how nasty a rollercoater ride it will be. watford and Swansea will already be pleased as the price they were due to pay for nathan and Rasiak will be on the floor, other clubs will be circling for any other nugget they can nick.Ok the players leaving will not be for a few weeks but it will happen if none of those tyrekickers do not come up with the goods.

This type of post brings me back to when the Wilde bunch rode into town,
-
It is no real surprise that fans are turning out in numbers, how about they pledge their support for next season as well.I went and visited a sick relative just before they died, sadly i didnt in the months leading up to it and probably still wouldnt have had he still be alive.
-
I would guarentee my purchases and even the longer term ones mentioned in an above post. The only problem I can see with a lifelong one is that the club get the money all at one time and if you had another roulette turn of the wheel set up again it would all be peed against the wall and so we would be back to square 1.
-
That doesnt surprise me, would any CEO put money in? If it is a family businness then you put your own money in. Surely LC could have stumped up 100k to keep the company going if he was prepared to put 2m in.I do not expect him to have done so, why should he as it is basically giving evey7 shareholder a few bob each. We now have a clean slate for all the investors who are said to be lined up to buy the club cheaply and i hope they do so. I will support them in the same way i did the last regime as i understand it is a business and so the priority is stable finances first then spend wisely on the squad. You cant put the cart before the horse.

Who is the curent (acting) Chairman of the Football Club? (not the PLC)
OldNick replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I have tried but I cant get an info as the people I know dont know anything what is going on either. There seems to be confusion what all the administration will bring. -
Great sentiment SitS , it certainly will be poignant seeing buckets collecting a few bob for our club.Baj is right though
-
How about the club issuing fans an offer that they guarentee to buy a s/t next season? if we could get 15-20000 guarentors to purchase that would also send a message to investors.

Corbett is MC, although she is only very minor part of our woes as she was helpful in bringing Wilde to the table, but perhaps the most disasterous decision. Askham was the catlyst to all this now and only a small % of fans seem to grasp the fact. LC is the closest thing to being decent although his heart ruled his head too much add a little vanity, Cowan im told is a decent man and Richards gave a good evaluation from his standpoint wehen he tried to argue against Wildes bunch.

I saw a snippet on the local news last night and was impressed by his manner. Great respect of him was earned last night.
