I think £8m overdraft is quite good considering we were supposed to be losing over 5m a year. Perhaps someone could tell us what our overdraft was a year ago.
-
to be fair you could add sterns no goals in 257 minutes. To be fair this time last season there were many fans on here telling us what a waste of time money and space Stern was. IMO DMG will score goals and needs a couple and that will send him on a good run.We just have to try and stay patient and not boo the lad, he wants to score as much as any palyer, its just unfortunate he has a languid look and so it seems he doesnt care.
-
that experience managed for him to blaze one into row z last season, I cant recall what game it was but I think we went on to lose the game..I think
-
you better give up and wave the white flag. We have accumalated 11 points without John and so it is not the end of the world as i know it
-
the fans were great, and have been all season. Why change it on the back of a loan that is down to financial decisions. I can't understand why it is not obvious why these players need to be shifted. If we avoid administration all decisions taken by the club has earned us 10-15 points, more than any player at the club could do.If we have the pain as well as administration then you have a point.
-
As I put earlier Alp I agree with you on the players returning, but WSS said that Rasiak is a season long loan and so it may be Saga likely to return. The stayaway fans are stayaway for a long time IMO. Fans who drift away due to CCC or not winning will take longer to get back than the ones who genuinely cant go due to financail restraints. When their finances look up they will return the 'only when we win' ones will take more to get them back.

and that will achieve what??? The young players dont seem too comfortable playing at home as it is , let alone if they have the distraction of chants against the board. If the club coud afford a team of superstars they'd have them, but we are broke and fans have been warb=ning us all season that EVERY player is on the for sale list. Id rather loan out Stern and keep the young players like Lallana than keep him and take a quick buck on one of them.(january that may still happen of course)
-
Not have to literally, but in a figure of speech.Iam not pleased he has gone but being pragmatic accept it. If you stand back and look at it Stern has not scored this season and had to be taken off because he was tired. His miss against Brum cost us the 3 points that day IMO and had we got off to a good start the pressure would be far less on us all. All in all it is a shame but theo thers will have to roll up their sleeves and get on with it. I still think DMG will come good(i await the mirth) and when he startts scoring he will go on a run of goals. This season I think we have more players able to score than in previous seasons and not having to rely on one player as we have done in the past
-
that is very unfair on the young players. They are doing well under very difficult circumstances. Its not their fault they are being asked to perform up a level before they should be. You are being harsh and I prefer watching their brand of football than a lot of the other clubs put out.
-
Its a vicious circle it seems, the team lose players we lose fans so we lose players to make up the shortfall and so more fans are lost. I still think that staying up and out of adminstration is our number 1 goal this season. Stern has gone on loan and so we have to accept it and try and move on. Whose decision is it, some have been saying this week that the banks are now telling us who to play as the crowds are dropping and so they may have said we need the wage bill cut . I realistically think that BC asked about Sterns availibility and we said he could go.

If thats the case then Alpine is wrong...
-
FTF thats all fair, but sadly he annoyed me big time when he played for us and so perhaps im letting that cloud my perception of him
-
I dont always agree with Alpine but on this occasion I do think that in Jan Rasiak and Saga will be back on the payroll and so I assume the club have tried to reduce the payroll. Im not happy about it but needs must.
-
That is fine and I dont care if he fails either as he walked out on us the same as Hoddle, HR, WGS they all left us in the lurch one way or other.
-
I think you hit the nail on the head there, as much as I dont rate Dowie he was never going to last long under the new regime, he was on a hiding to nothing.
-
Dowie played 150 games for us and I never liked him as a player, he was woeful in front of goal, forget not he had the supply of one of the best players ever to grace our team. Just because he is an ex-player does not mean I think he is a good manager.
-
its funny when they havent managed us their past record is put in front of their failure but ours move on to international jobs and are still slaughtered. IMO Dowie is not a good manager as his record at Charlton where he spent big and failed miserably, Palace where he got them up on a roll and went straight back down again, where they kept their squad and added to it and still failed badly. Football is about opinions and my opinion of Dowie is that he is not a good manager, you think differently. I dont know how well he did at Oldham but was he sacked or headhunted by Palace?

scud I am you took it the wrong way, as the actress said 5to the vicar
-
genius then... all is forgiven.

DT I like a friendly josh and have a sense of humour so I smiled with yours. (Im not his mum and have never met the bloke either) I have just defended him from some terrible injustice on here fore 2 seasons. That doesnt mean I dont see some shortfalls in his ability but I do realise we are a CCC club and so cannot expect perfection. I dont hold with if its in the 6 yard box its the keepers because every week tens of goals are scored from withing the 6 yard box and it is not the keepers fault. I dont know how old you are but as a kid I saw Pat Jennings and he would command hios area and take the ball out of the air one handed. He wouldnt be able to do so now as the balls are lighter and move in the air, it is a dangerous game going for the ball like that. If the ball is a floated cross then yes the keeper should come for it but if it is whipped in it is suicide. Anyway I for 1 am delighted he has won many fans around and they sing his name, also that he turned his phone off on deadline day so he couldnt be sold.
-
overrated manager and failed in most jobs except one season at Palace
-
nobody expects that
-
Alpine maybe close to the mark, in Jan Sagaand Gregorz loans are up and they may return and so be back on the wage bill therefore that is why perhaps the reason stern is to be loaned out
