  1. Derry I think you should PM Weston as I have done and then clarify those quotes. You are making mischief and its not right.
  2. I think that is valid, but also with the squad we have now would have NP and I for 1 still say that he took us into the relegation spot in the first place when he arrived we were miles clear.I still was happy to give him a chance though.
  3. I dont have to answer to anyone in my life except the vat and tax man,.... oh and my wife. So perhaps with that freedom I can make up my own mind. I dont need to be told to jump off a cliff unless I want to. No doubt you are feeling confident this week as you are on the back of a defeat and the dissenters are out in force. Do you think that because you are in the majority I will say nothing. You may be part of a flock but i use my own brain to make my own opinions and judgements. A top stockbroker who was a major shareholder in Saints a few years ago (sadly he died recently) who was very respected in the city had a motto it went on the lines of 'always question the perceived wisdom' He became a multi milionaire and had the responsility of 100'm pounds worth of investments if not billions. He was known also for telling people in the City that the market was from too overvalued and was pilloried for that. So just because you have many in your crusade it doesnt mean you are the font of all knowledge. Now where is that plan you told us about?
  4. no but long term if he gets us stable he might.I should have put protect his investment or value in the club
  5. It doesnt matter whether you worry about my judgement or not.He was deemed to be good enough by the people who matter, he was also seen from people outside the club ie neutrals and press etc to be doing well with the politics and all happening at the club(I dont necessarily adhere to that, or whether he is international material) but that is the case. I look at other clubs and think 'why are they worrying' as xyz is doing well or the squad is good, wheras the fans are on the managers back. You only have to look at the Norwich forum to see that (I dont like Roeder but they are not that bad) You judge RL as an Egotist, well I can see where you are coming from but he has come back and kept out of the limelight, hardly a man concerned with ego.I would say more singleminded myself and wanting to do it his way and take the blame if it goes wrong, not stray away from his own views to appease and then get blamed if it fails.
  6. As you are an anti, I totally understand where your post comes from. Put it this way and only in the simplest form, what would a forward be worth to us who could guarentee 15 points this season?
  7. All correct and I respect your judgement, but cant always agree of course. I can only assume Powell was given another contract as we were unable to get a decent defender in, the management at thev time would have their own ideas on how they liked them and whilst I suspect I know the type of defender NP would bring in ( Id agree with the old fashioned English type) I expect Jan likes a cultured footballer. That may not work but it is still too soon to say he is wrong. With youngsters you never know which team will turn up but after being Saints fans why are we surprised?
  8. That is your opinion.RL is a pragmatist IMO, bit also looking to make a profit. That doesnt worry me as that is life, find us an investor to waste 10m and Im right with you. As for GB he is an international manager now and so what you were right about I dont know.
  9. I think that is valid, I said some time ago was sick of our defenders players playing the gentlemen excuse me.It started with Claus after killer went and has never been rectified. We as fans like to see good football and so it is a difficult thing to balance. No nonsense defenders are a must but the club must know this and for some reason have failed to sign them.
  10. Against Norwich it did wonders and broke up lots of their attacks. It worked at Cov but the linesman missed it on the first goal. The 2nd goal looked offside but then seemed fair on replay.
  11. One thing for sure is that it did make a difference and so was right at that time.Had we been 3 up we would not have changed much if anything of course. A manager tries to make a difference and he did so at that time (Iam undecided whether Jan is the man for us, but will praise if he does things well)
  12. On a post like this I would not be evenhanded, it is just another excuse to cause unrest. Like him you never are happy and always seem to post anti club threads/opinions. I defend the club as when it fails in the short or long term it will effect me as I have purt a lot of time money and emotion into it.Therefore Im not happy to see it being torn by some who dont have IMO realistic plans or beliefs. Get a new chairman I really wouldnt mind but not like the last lot you and others proclaimed were our saviours. I have read (I dont know if it is true) on here that RL will not sell unless the people coming in are prepared to invest long term. Now to me that is responsible as a custodian. I wish for the fans to be united but it is a forlorn hope that it will ever be as so many just cant see the wood for the trees. We cant find an investor and so you cut your cloth accordingly and some wont understand that and that is why as a nation we have so many borrowings because people live beyond their means.RL etc is trying to prevent us doing so at our club, it is painful but needed.
  13. That is true, but at least he did try and be decisive. We have had many managers who fa##y around and put only 1 player on to change this, the time needed drastic action and it made a big difference.
  14. May I point out that the poster who started this thread believes it would be best for us to go into Administration..priceless.
  15. TOA I have got used to in the main shouting into the wind...or should be at the windbags. This site is only lively after a defeat and then the anti's are in full throw, they have the International break to keep it going as well.
  16. Please point me to the plan as i have yet to see this from you.It will be eye opening and much considered.
  17. So lets all give up. By your logic if all our shots had gone in we would have won the game 20-10. We had the opportunity at 3-1 down twice to make it 3-2, had DMG or Surman scored the game would have changed more in our favour and Cov would have panicked more.Whether we would have equalized I dont know but that is what may have happened as the players would have had a different miondset at that time on both sides.Yes had Cov taken their opportunities it may have been 5-0 but I was stating as it was in that moment in time.Had the linesman given the offside then they may not have got the other golden opportunities as things would have played out differently. Im sorry if i dont come on all doom and gloom but I leave that to others. It was a poor disply but there were times where it could have been so different.
  18. I thought his substitutions were brave and did change the flow of the game in our favour.
  19. it wasnt him who said that it was Pekhart
  20. Just shows what a great performance it was. I will see you at the BAFTA's darling
  21. Gasmi will be arriving at the club this week. It is not a new signing but he was injured, I assume with this news is that he has now recovered and so join.
  22. Oh so Weston is now the guru and we should bow to his knowledge. Weston is indeed a respected poster but that doesnt mean he is right, and he has not said it is correct about DMG. You may be naive enough to beleive that the club chairman would guarentee that a 19 year old kid would be guarentted a starting place (as it no doubt serves your slant on things) but i am not prepared to and I spoke to someone at the club and they havenot stopped laughing yet at the preposterous thought.
  23. Well you tell me where that is wrong? It is not excuses it is how I see it.You think had Drew or DMG scored a second things may have been different then? You wallow in your happy to tell us how things are bad in defeat. It is your turn to point out how clever you are stating the bleeding obvious while others actually can understand why the club has to do what it has.We are still waiting to be told the 'alpine Plan' that would be able to cut the clubs 100K aweek losses , play star experienced players and sign some more, without having to rely on young players who in some cases are not quite ready.
  24. well I didnt hear that all I heard was them saying that they thought McKenzie had strayed offside and had gambled.
  25. You are a bit tetchy aren't you today? If it makjes you feel better do it, but dont expect better perfomances as it wont happen if you do. The thing about the 14k attendances has been the fans tremendous patience and that is credit tpo those who turn up.The majority have got behind the team and the players have appreciated that.Go and boo see us spiral down and go into lge 1 and all that goes with it, but at least you were able to show your dissatisfaction at a load of young players who have been thrust into the deep end a little before their time.A team that has ably got 11 points in some tough fixtures (some easier). If you think I dont get frustrated you'd be wrong but i can see the folly of booing players who need all the help they can get.
