  1. Talk about a hypocrite. You want others to put in but shy away from doing so yourself. The chairman and all the staff receive their salaries for work done.It strikes me you are just an envious person. Keep banging your drum, you cant understand the basics of being up s### creek without a paddle.
  2. All this questions why the last board santioned the signings and wages of Davies Thomas Euell etc last season while we obviously heading for dire financial troubles.
  3. The club could not afford to reduce early bird prices futher next year. Im not the person who would complain anyway, remember the free bus thing then multiply that a few thousand times. I would welcome the club to take therinitiative but many wouldnt
  4. Yep the signing of Andrew Davies will not cause any upset when he is sold...oh and Baird and Bale and KJ all three were below the radar when he arrived. Anyway this has been done to death and he has left us like thep layers and managers before.Just another scapegoat. It will be great when you provide photo evidence of him being drunk.
  5. I suspect cummatively Askham is miles in front especially if you take into account the reverse takeover etc.
  6. No not rosetinted, pragmatic. If we all turn against the kids we will definately fail.Support them and nuture them and we may come out of this. For years I have had fans say we wanted to have players who care for their shirts, we have the closest we are going to get and you still moan. The 27 years in the PL is a weight that still hangs around our necks because so many have never seen us play in a lower league and so have a feeling that we have divine rights to beat all comers.
  7. more pertinent that Askham who has been in the shadows taking the big money pay some into the pot.
  8. In harsh reality you are right, but Brum were brimming with PL quality players. They were outplayed for a long time and had to puton all their big guns to get a result.
  9. Valid points
  10. It is so easy is it.Redcuce ticket prices, have you factored in the refunds to the 11000 s/t holders? I doubt you have.RL etc have been lumbered with the pricing they inherited. There is no room for manouver.I myself would accept paying more than a new pricing strategy to get more people into the ground but as we have a lot of fans who would complain that they were penalised it is not feasible
  11. Well we had a dose of Redknapp and Moyes was tipped the wink that Everton wanted him and so he stayed up north. The 3 appoinments were not good but as I say I see why he did the 2 coachs. Considering you told us about Sturrock being so good at Plymouth Im surprised in you mentioning him
  12. Throw the towel in after 2 games against 2 of the better teams, never mind we are all different.
  13. I see that point but it is a buyers market and we dont know the full picture. As somebody has stated above something I had not thought of is that we are probably due to pay another installment on his fee.It is not all black and white. Seeing the crowd yesterday was more depressing than the AD sale. Why can we fill a stadium of badge kissers against Sheff utd, have an exhillerating result and then the next competitive match half have gone.
  14. OK lets compare them with with the Liverpool bootroom. Untried managers Boothroyd and others.I didnt want either but I do understand why RL rewarded their loyalty. Especially Gray as when we were in complete disaray he stayed when Hoddle tried to take him with him.Why not give a loyal servant a chance?
  15. Of course that has to be factored in but we are dealing with now, and now is not very pretty looking financially. If fans put AD ahead of the club then thats a sad situation.I dont think he is ready for the PL at present as his height and pace is not quite there. No doubting his bravery and will to win and Id rather keep him but 'the king is dead, long live the king' ps He has to pass a medical and to do so will be an achiement considering his long layoff.
  16. I do understand your point but to me it is no different to us losing KJ this time last season, it was a kick in the teeth and that is when GB came out and said it was going ot be a hard season and we were looking for a mid table finish.Of all our players KJ was the one GB didnt want to lose. Davies is a good defender it would be interesting to see the goals against and points gained etc when he played.
  17. The Itchen corner were a good group of fans but for many most of the match they were looking at the oppo fans not the game. You must see that to poilice and steward such an area is costly. You are a committed fan ,do you think in our times of financial restraints that it is right to sacrifice the corner seating for the benoifit of our club? It is not the clubs fault it is the fickle/plastic fans who cant be bothered to go and support Saints. The corners will open when the fans return.
  18. No doubt you were not keen with the appointments of WGS or Jones they both did ok. Gray and Wigley were both highly respected and wew were told that in football they were rated. Both decisions were made and then they were replaced leaving plenty of time to right things. Did RL give away 2 goal leads NO Did he miss an open goal from 6 yards away at WBA (That alone would have saved us if it had gone in) etc etc etc etc etc. RL was part of the disaster but the players and management were the biggest factor as their arrogance that they were too good to go down cost us.
  19. End of August but you still can get loans for a while..I think By the way are you Bournemouth Saint from the old site who had run ins with DD etc about GB?
  20. Why are you down on the young players. If we had a spending spree in the summer and had bought MCG Lallana Gillette etc etc you would not say the same. We'd have given them more slack. They are Saints players and have been at the club for many years and so have an affinity to the club and fans.Yesterday who let us down most? It was the high wage earner who had to be taken off as he was tired (jans words) and missed the chance that would have changed the course of the day.Im not against Stern but just using him as an example of the 'stars' not doing what the kids did, they competed.
  21. No I first heard of the interest on here. I do know that no player on high wages is sacred, and will be sold if there is a decent offer. A collegue who went for a meal with LC and another director just before RL came back, they said that the bank would support us but we had to sell everything that moved.Under any chairman in the state the club is in players were to be sold. It will carry on until the window closes, I just hope we can get there without losing some of the promising kids.
  22. Do you support SFC or the hero of the moment?? The senior players are there for a pay check and wish for a PL club to take them. Those kids pull our shirt on with pride and excitement to play in front of us.Yes they hope it will lead to greater things for them but their first thought is to play for our shirt. Give them slack and forget players who are going on to better things.
  23. amen to that
  24. until fans understand 'being close to bankrupt' we will carry on fretting about offloading high wage earners. I rate Davies and am disappointed that he might be sold, but he is subject to lots of injuries as he goes full throttle inot everything.Boro fans told us that he is good but gets injured a lot because he goes into tackle alm,ost recklessly. Heads up a decent result will lift the spirits
  25. I know but after all these years I still am surprised at how bigoted some are. I watched the highlights this morning and watched to check my assessment of the 2nd goal was correct and am satisfied that KD had no chance as Bents header bounced so high, it was a fluke. If fans had seen Barts performance at Exeter it was discocerting that such a promising keeper has become so nervous, I hope he regains his confidence and is pushing KD again for 1 st spot.
