  1. No I questioned that decision. You have to recall the events of the time.RL had been branded a sacking chairman. He relieved Jones and got Hoddle who walked out.Gray was shown loyalty for the way he stayed at the club when GH wanted to take him to Spurs. He took action and then appointed Strachan ,that was not universally approved, but did well we left. The press wwere now circling and saying RL was a sacking chairman, then we had Sturrock (the truth of his departure is still to come out) then Wigley again was rewarded for loyalty and was replaced with over 20 games left HR had plenty of time to get us safe. The players had no backbone and gave away countless points from winning positions, thye are just as culpable as any body else.
  2. I hope you win the Euro millions.
  3. Now that is a btter arguement as I think the swing Lowe song and Burley for Scotland was counter productive.
  4. Well as it was in the national press it was not news.If I left a football club and insulted the fanbase I would expect payback.Crouch left and has gone on to Pompey but he doesnt bring the same feelings from fans. Its the way you carry yourself. Personally phillips was not in the game and it did effect his performance.Even McFadden went a patted him on the back when he came on to get him to lift his head.
  5. there you go you wish for somebody else to pay.I dont blame just RL for the clubs demise but a lot of factors. To keep a few seats open is a futile jesture IMO.
  6. In general Saints fans have been very good to returning players.Maik Taylor was received well and clapped back to the fans applauding his return. Phillips left and said some uncalled things and so the venom is well due.His wife was in the papers for her infidelity and does not shy away from the cameras.I thought he would have celebrated in front of our fans.
  7. your morals are strong but when the situation appeared you may change your mind. It was like a classic bit on Fools and Horses when Del boy says 'if i had a million pounds Id give you half, if I had 2 rolls royces Id give you one.' Rodney says ' if you had two gold watches would you give me 1' and Del replies 'Now you know I have 2 gold watches.'
  8. A caller came on Radio Hants and said that he had spoken to RL before the game and he said the only reason Davies is going was because we couldnt afford his wages.
  9. But for what reason? To throw a lot of money away to pander to a few fans is a nonsense. If they were to throw any money away it would be better to the squad. As I said when the idea to close was mooted, if you wish for it to stay open wpould you pasy 3-4 times for the ticket to pay for the costs of doing so.Understanderbly you wouldnt so why should a business/club that is in serious financial trouble
  10. fair summary IMO
  11. Behave, I didnt sing but Phillips deserves everything he got. He would have scored or any other player would have it made no difference
  12. In a position like we are what else can we do.We have to sell to recoup our excesses in the past.
  13. You are no doubt correct but the club has to be pragmatic. We dont know how Davis is and he might not even pass a medical as Jan says he's still injured. I would love to have him at the club but like last season one of our real hopes is taken for us after 2 games by a promoted club (kenwynne) We should by now be used to this.Perhaps it would be better to have a team of averagew players whop stay together akin to Bristol City, rather than individuals that stand out and are taken from us.
  14. No I agree you have a right but i got a bit confused in your flare up with Jillsaint etc .
  15. on the radio and Perry stated that the support was very good.Steve was correct after 70 minutes it did go flat but we feared the worst and so were edgy. Its the noisest reception I can recall against a returning player.
  16. Will I??? Do you sit near me then?
  17. I think I was on this occasion in a better position to judge the incident and believe me bent did indeed try to head the ball downwards but not the way it did and bounced so high.If it was hit correctly they wouldnt have scored as it was covered.
  18. A good question. In my heart I would say a draw, in my head a loss but again it depends if we hjad got a 2 goal lead like we should have had today.
  19. The bits im hearing form the club are not as bright as you paint it.
  20. I understand that but we did the same when we moved stadia. I dont like it but it is not the clubs fault its the fault of the stay away fans.Where were the ones who were there for the Sheff u game ?
  21. Derry I dont know where you sit but I sit 8 rows back in the Northam. Bent headed the ball into the ground and was fortunate that he mi**** it and it bounced high over KD to the back post.Bent is one of those players who is poor but does well against us but fails elsewhere. It was a fortunate bounce.I do accept you are trying to be less critical so far this season. It shows to meyou are prepared to people a chance.
  22. Apart from you saying Brum deserved to win the rest is spot on. Do you agree that Stern should have buried his chance and if he did we wuld have come away with something.
  23. I hope you dont throw in the towel like that if you play a sport
  24. yep and loads didnt go because there were no free buses I suppose. Do you not see the silliness of not going just because the corners were closed. Is supporting Saints all about sitting in the corner?
  25. thats good news, have you just donated 10m to the club and we didnt know.?
