Problem with playing 2 up front these days is that nobody else does it and a lot of teams use wing backs to assist the midfield, so our midfield would be totally overrun and we'd get dicked. Could work against some teams though but imo it would see us soundly beaten in midfield, which is the most important battle on the pitch.

Sorry I haven't given my thoughts, been busy w*nking over Lemina Seriously though, I said after his last game that he showed flashes of what he was about and that he could become a good player for us. In that game he gave the ball away a bit (to which the mongs on here were slating him for) but he was settling. He was brilliant against Palace. We are finally seeing a player that can fill the void left by Schniederlin. A proper energetic box to box player that can throw in a tackle and hold off a player. How much more balanced did our midfield look as opposed to the Watford game! Hope he continues to play like that, as he takes so much pressure off of Romeu. The front unit was still a bit frustrating apart from Long. I'll tell you what, if that boy could finish then in this day and age he'd be a £40 million pound player. He offers everything else and had a good game. Defense looked ok, couple of dodgy moments but on the whole it was solid. Hoedt had a good game and how good is his left foot? Some of his play switching passes were sublime! Big test against Utd next weekend. Think there'll be too good for us but we will hopefully have Van Dijk and Hoedt marking Lukaku. Imagine Yoshida and Stephens against him. Haha

He's way more of a Schniederlin type but he's just bigger.

Lemina has been quality. Hoedt looking good as well.

Ward Prowse isn't and never will be a #10. It's therefore not his fault that the manager played him there. I think he plays his best football wide of a front three, he should be competing with Redmond, not Tadic/Boufal.

We are playing a side that have 5 defensive players injured and we still can't create a ****ing chance. We have been absolutely terrible. Laughable even.

I honestly don't see why people are so bothered about it. At the end of the day, he was an avid Saints fan and we are all a community of fans. It will be nice for his family to see and shows a sign of togetherness. If it's not your cup of tea then fair enough but at the end of the day, all you're doing is clapping for 1 minute at a certain time and in doing so, capping off an experience for a grieving family. You never know, it may even raise a smile for a fellow human being that's having a hard time. Stop being such miserable ****s

Possibly. I do like Yoshida but I think Stephens has more room to improve as well.

Yoshida suffers from similar problems tbh.

My bad. thought for some reason he was left footed. haha I think there's little between them but Stephens is better on the ball whilst being a comparable CB imo.

Stephens should partner Hoedt. 1. Because Yoshi is left footed, as is Hoedt, so I don't think they'd work together. 2. Stephens is better than Yoshida.

He should be on the bench Saturday. He's been keeping himself in good shape and is pretty much fit. I don't think he's going to play this out any longer. He'll knuckle down and play. Don't know why some of you are getting your knickers in a twist though, it's three days until the next game. You'll know by then.

Honestly I think it's because of the steady rise. We now have a younger generation of fans that are used to prgress and winning. It's mad how unhappy some of our fans can be in this day and age. Try following saints when we we're under Rupert Lowe struggling to stay up every year.

No ffs. What is it with people on this forum? Boufal has shown flashes of what he can do, given a run of games I think he could be a good player for us. Tadic is playing **** but still getting selected because there's no competition for his place. The sooner he's dropped for a few games the sooner he may give himself a kick up the arse. Also, Boufal keeps getting stuck out wide, he's a #10. Play him in his best position!

Players have peaks and troughs, to keep playing an out of form player just because he played a lot when we finished 8th is ridiculously naive. There needs to be competition for places. As soon as Tadic starts playing ****e (like he has been for months now) they need dropping and another player given a chance. Boufal needs a run of games, not just a cameo sub appearance or a bloody reserve game against Wolves. It beggars belief that you can't see that. I think you're letting you frustration over Boufal cloud your judgement. He joined injured and hasn't really had a run of games in the position we supposedly bought him to play in. What's more, having Tadic on the pitch atm is literally like having 10 men, so why not give Boufal a go?

Boufal has a lot to offer. Give the lad a run of games in place of Tadic. Let's be honest, there's nothing to lose there as atm having Tadic on the pitch is as good as playing with 10 men.

Holland are an absolute basket case atm. They haven't appointed a decent manager for years and they are constantly at 6's and 7's. **** Advocaat is the manager ffs, so I won't be judging him based on any international games as their ability to defend has been non existent for years now.

I'll lose the plot if Pellegrino starts Tadic. He needs benching to at the very least, give him a kick up the ass. He has been crap so far. Give Boufal a chance, we can't do any worse and at least he can pick out a decent through ball. The three behind Gabbi really need to start looking up and watching his runs. His off ball movement is excellent yet they just blindly ignore him. It must be so frustrating for him.
