Good post in the news from kski in London PCFC to not have to enter or exit CVA by the start of the season – they have 12 months from entering the CVA. The points deduction is determined by the exit vehicle (agreed or extraordinary CVA) not by the timescale. The CVAs being challenged at the High Court. The High Courts decision can be taken to the Court of Appeal by either side. The court can imply terms on the CVA, or direct AA to form a new CVA. HMRC are looking for guidance on voting issues. AA by law has to act in the interests of all creditors (HMRC included), and HMRC contest he has disadvantaged them by reducing their claim. Interestingly the actual tax liability will only be known when the CVA is agreed and the Admin Event occurs. The HMRC have a special team called Combined voluntary arrangement service – so one would imagine they are accurate to 10%? The Inclusion of “secured” debt football creditors is a legal minefield covering liens, securities and trusts, and other issues. But it seems odd that creditor A who will receive 100% under FC rules gets to vote on a proposal affecting creditor B who will receive 20% over 4 years. Re Image rights – The HMRC are not choosing to contest the concept of Image rights in this case. They are claiming that the 26% of wages diverted to IR payments for PCFC players in the last three years does not match the accrued Income generated by Image rights for PCFC. (A tax dodge) Bearing in mind this year Man U have set aside £5.5m on IR tax provisions. In fy 09 PCFC paid £17m in IR, generating a tax liability at 40% of £6.8M. HMRC will argue that PCFC turnover does not match Man U and the IR payments for the squads cannot be said to be worth similar amounts. I think they have a good point that is difficult to defend

I know no more. The injury was said to be a nuisance (I interpreted as niggling) Sorry if I mislead.

Not so. I was there this evening with a full coach load, most of whom watch 4 day games and are regulars. Good day. Thought Egbaston was shabby and not a patch on the Rose Bowl. Good atmosphere though. Great win. Always felt we ewere just in control throughout the game.

Adam has a niggling knee injury. Had an injection last week. Resting it until Wednesday and will try again. No truth in the earlier rumour that he is out until September.

No, all unallocated seats

Flew past my window quite low. Fantastic sight.

My pension is in the private sector. 40/60ths. Final Salary (average final 12 months) option to go at 60. Non contributory. Added 5 years service if redundancy (incl voluntary) after 50. Also if I die wife gets 2/3rds of my pension. Not suprisingly I took voluntary redundancy at 51 after 33.5 years service. 5 years added. so 38.5/60ths. No further reduction for fact I was getting it from 51. Since I went in Dec 2003 the firm have started to take contributions from salary of 5%, then did away with 5 year added service, then Government extended earliest it could be taken to 55 and now they are closing the scheme to existing members. How lucky I was to get an opportunity to go when I did. Don't need to work again.

For the England v Australia IOD at the RoseBowl the charge in the Robin Smith was £525 plus vat per person with a minimum table of 10. That gave champagne reception, 3 course dinner and free bar all day (incl spirits) They sold out!
-
One again a club whinging because they are being hard done by. IF they have paid the salaries to players and deducted the tax and IF they have collected VAT from customers, it is not their money to do what they like with! IT SHOULD BE PAID TO HMRC. Why do they and the bank find that so difficult to understand.

Hants without Dimi & Nick for rest of season
Weston Saint replied to Weston Saint's topic in General Sports
Michael Bates was with England Under 19's but called back and now withdrawn. So who did England pick to take his place - Adam Rouse another up and coming Hampshire Academy Wicket Keeper who made his debut for England yesterday. -
Surely the employees were laid off AFTER ADMINISTRATION papers filed with the court. Therefore "AA" in his capacity as Administrator of PFC going forward is responsible to pay up? They are not part of the debt at the date of Administration.

Dimitri Mascarenhas and vice-captain, Nic Pothas have both been ruled out for the rest of the 2010 season through injury http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/hampshire-suffer-double-injury-blow/

Looking forward to this on Monday. Just booked my ticket via Warwickshire Web Site and Coach from Rosebowl. All systems go

That is why I did not predict!

I think I will wait and see how we play and if Pardew is able to curb his enthusiasm for the "safe" game. We need to be able to counter teams who go defensive by adventurous play. Midfield must click and we need plenty of movement off the ball including wide play. We also need to be able to play on lesser pitches. I am very enthusiastic about our season but guarded on automatic promotion

Because those released were weak and dragged us backwards when they came into the team. OK we have lost Waigo and Antonio but they were loan players. I liked Waigo, think he added pace but Antonio made a lot of poor football decisions. Pardew has already said he is looking to bring in a Lambert style support player. They take time

Stu, how much revenue do you think Saints earned last season from football and ancilliary events? I am betting net of vat it is not likely to be more than 7 million. What do you think expenditure was over that period when you take into account salaries, running costs and net transfer/agents fees? I am betting it will be a lot lot more than income. The club is building and you have to invest money prudently to do so. That will be money over and above income until the promised PL is reached and our academy produces more players.

Bates was fantastic behind the stumps. Stood up to Woods overs and then to Corks last. Lightening quick takes. We have found a star. Pothas was unwell so Bates drove down from Loughborough at 9am this morning.

What we do not know is who we are talking to at present. Players for teams have only been back a short while. To deal with approach, permission, negotiation, agreement, signing takes time, particularly if you want the right type of player. Remember also that we have a pretty good first team now. That means anyone coming in will likely be for cover only. You are going to find it difficult getting L1 quality if they are not going to go straight into the team. I suspect our signings will be later than anticipated because of this. Players will look at all options before committing to a particular contract or club.
