  1. It was a good report highlighting the dirt running through the Portsmouth boardroom in recent times. Anyway, since then http://www.pressassociation.com/component/pafeeds/2010/02/04/pompey_takeover_set_to_be_challenged?camefrom=sport-news Looks like the fake shake (spelling intentional) and his Jewish Lawyer is going to challenge. Plenty of icebergs still about
  2. Good post. I can relate to that and agree your interpretation.
  3. OK if you are comfortable with it, no problem.
  4. It breaks the rules.
  5. DPS I suggest you remove that name as you are breaking board rules.
  6. Assuming Chainrai gives financial stability to the FC in the short term I believe this will lead to stability on the field. Portsmouth are only 6 points from 17th place and looking at their recent performances I am convinced there are at least 3 teams worse thn them and I can see them surviving at the end of the season. To me the car crash was not as bad as we thought it would be. No more rubber necking from me. Time to get eyes back fully on Saints and enjoy the smooth and stable ride Leibherr & Cortese are giving us.
  7. Ladies & Gentlemen, Chainrai has just entered the Money Pit.
  8. Quite possible that Cortese knew Murray would react in the way he did. A shrewd cookie is our Mr Cortese.
  9. Not so. I have information from both camps via a friend. I am not going to disclose the goings on but I think Cortese was wrong in banning the echo but suspect from what I am told he was spoiling for a fight and to mark out his ground. I am led to believe Murray is known not to stand aside when faced with a threat or to apologise. His spat against Cortese in his editorial was unwise and silly. This is Cortese v Murray not SFC v Echo. It is stupid and unneccessary on both sides. Don't just blame the Echo I suspect Cortese will win the day in due course and the relationship between the sports reporters and football managment will resume thereafter. Will be wise for Murray to hold his counsel, let the dust settle and I am sure Cortese will agree to a meeting to "clear the air" in due time. Any further attacks on Cortese in the Echo will just play into his hands.
  10. No not drugs Most users ever online was 1,006, 24-01-2010 at 06:21 PM. Who says the FA Cup is dead
  11. Being in D1 we are unlikely to attract a sponsor for big money to make a difference BUT any sponsor will demand a profile and expect it's "pound of flesh" As we are celebrating 125 years it makes sense for the club to keep anyone like that out of our celebrations for that year. Let's hope Saints relaunch all their merchandise, not just the shirt, without a sponsor name in celebration. Net profit may well exceed what gain the club would get from sponsorship.
  12. Don't ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for Portsmouth
  13. Is that a bell I hear tolling.
  14. Bergovic to Chelsea? SSN say Pompey were hoping to raise £4.5m today. Perhaps the rejection of Stoke offer not so strange if Chelsea link true. Dindane having medical at Blackburn SSN say
  15. Well they have just rejected Stokes offer of £3m for Bergovic and are considering reporting them and Bergovic's agent.
  16. If James plays another 9 times for Pompey first team he activates a year extention to his contract, something Pompey are trying to avoid. That may be why they have rejected the bid from Stoke for Bergovic. They need him
  17. Bergovic has played for Portsmouth and 6 games for Ipswich on loan. Whoever buys him will need dispensation to play him this season - unlikely I would have thought
  18. My understanding from a very good press source is that Pardew knows the score as far as his future is concerned. Another source told me that if a Championship club came in for Pardew he would likely take it. Read between the lines. Pardew's targets are tougher than is made public is my take from this.
  19. Best 11 when all fit Davis (just) Murty - Fonte - Seaborne(because he is a natural left foot)-Harding Lallana - Hammond - Schneiderlin - Puncheon Lambert - Connolly
  20. Just because a Judge gives leave to appeal does not suggest it will succeed. Otherwise why would he make a ruling against Pompey in the first place? It could be that he is aware of the consequences and the importance of his decision and left it open to ratification by a higher court. I was once refused leave to appeal a civil case. My Barristers thought I had a good case in that we felt the Judge had misinterpreted the evidence. A very senior appeal judge considered our application and decided we had a good chance of winning the appeal and granted leave. We went to the appeal court and within 5 minutes we knew it would not be overturned. It is very difficult winning an appeal and I am not at all suprised Pompey diod not appeal. I did not expect them to.
  21. Yes it has been suggested to me that he might play centre right midfield with Lallana on the left. MIGHT was the comment. Nothing was said about transfers in still to come or not. Pat has suggested on this thread that a second bid was made at 12pm Saturday. If so that is after the web site comment. Just may be this is still alive but I am not ITK on this matter
  22. Midfield right to left :- Antonio (Waigo) - Puncheon - Schneiderlin - Lallana is he bet until Hammond is fit.
  23. There is every possibility Puncheon will play centre right in midfield.
  24. Just to put some balance into this Results against 1st-6th W0 D5 L3 7th-12th W1 D3 L2 13th-18th W5 D1 L0 19th-24th W5 D1 L1 We have a little way to go yet
  25. I doubt it very much. We had our target positions and they have been filled. Cortese will not sanction any further. The Dans offer was around the same time as they were negotiating Puncheon, keeping options open. With his signing that closes that option. Think Ward & Seaborne. Same situation applied then, in my opinion
