  1. Reckon Dean Smith will set them up - ultra defensively for his first game in charge got a draw written all over it unless we play well 0-0 1-0 to us 1-1 or us by a few (think I have covered all the option there 😉 )
  2. Previously at a Canada game
  3. He / they did spend a ridiculous / huge amount of money to get them to the PL compared to other teams in each league they got promoted from though, so there is that caveat tbh I like Howe and yes he did a good job at bournemouth 👍
  4. This is slightly disingenuous as Mark Noble is at the end of his career (34 - after 17 years at WH and over 500 appearances for them) and will retire at the end of this season - thus his legs have gone - comparing him to JWP who is 26 is a strange one
  5. might also be this, clubs need potential English home grown players because of Brexit, I keep hearing / reading about on football forums 🤷‍♂️
  6. would love a bit of Lerma or Brooks tbh or even at a push Billing / Mepham

  8. Fulham agree to loan Everton and Valencia target Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa to Napoli with £9m option to buy as they ponder fresh bid for Swansea's Matt Grimes It is from the Daily Fail though 🙄😏🤦‍♂️
  9. I would say though, people can now ID you, through PI (if they are also in the league) so you might want to change the post to in the top 10/5/3? Unless everyone knows who you are already
  10. well done adds cliches - its all downhill from here its a marathon not a sprint etc etc.
  11. He’s not Thierry small, he’s just far away
  12. 71pts with Son to go Think I have 11BP's to come so 82pts Salad - 3 (Cap-6) Schmeichel - 2 DCL - 1 Ings - 1 Greenwood - 1 oh Bruno where for art thou this happens a lot so don't worry - i didn't have him either
  13. If we start a new league in the telegraph one - it would have to start from GW2 which is a shame - I was hoping there was one already set up Is he your first sub? the order you place subs in is the order they come off the bench (unless as mentioned you haven't got enough GK or Defenders) thus its always worth changing the order depending on who they are playing. If someone doesn't play (for example you have Kane) he would be substituted for the first player on the bench (even if that player is not a striker (as you can play with just one up top), if Kane was your only striker then he would be replaced with another striker Some weeks you will have a bench packed with pts whereas you team may all on 1/2/3 pointers which is gutting! Perhaps the worst thing is a player needs to play for 60 mins to gain the Clean sheet bonus (DEF and MID) - and certain managers take people off around the 55mins to 59 mins which is a gutter see Pep roulette for this and remember if a DEF or MID gets the Clean Sheet bonus and then is subbed after 60 mins he keeps it but if you keep checking your score sometimes you will have the bonus then if the opposition scores after the 60 mins the bonus get taken away
  14. nope, unless you have played the Bench boost Chip (which can be played once a season (as can the other chips)) - probably best to save the chips for Double Game weeks (DGW's) if a player in your starting line up doesn't play, a replacement will come off the bench as long it the team shape works (for example - you must always have a GK and minimum 3 defenders) You can make one free transfer pw (if you dont make one, it will roll over to the next week) but you can never have more than 2 FT's (if you make more than your current FT, each one will cost you 4pts - thus sometimes if you have a lot of surgery to do to your team the Wild card gives you unlimited transfers for that week (the free hit chip is something different) @OldNick You chose each week before the GW starts (once a week has started you cant do anything) - same as Cap and VCap @egg - you get 2 Wildcards per season (1st has to be used before Jan IIRC) https://fantasy.premierleague.com/help lots of FAQ in there my fav chips is Triple Captain (((C))) - use this on a DGW on Salad, Kane or someone who scores lots of points! hope that helps
  15. good luck all Should we do a poll / vote each week for Captain Choice? For Example: 1. Week 1 Captain Salah - Norwich (A) - 95 Mane - Norwich (A)- 5 Jota - Norwich (A) - 0 TAA - Norwich (A) - 0 Toney - Arsenal (H)- 0 Bruno - Leeds (H) - 9 Greenwood - Leeds (H) - 0 Martial - Leeds (H) - 0 Havertz - Palace (H) - 2 Werner - Palace (H) - 0 Mount - Palace (H) - 1 Iheanacho - Wolves (H) - 0 Ings - Watford (A) - 1 Grealish - Spurs (A) - 0 Mahrez - Spurs (A) - 0 Other - 2 115 members have voted 115 members have voted
  16. fair point, 4 years on his contract also at Lyon IIRC think Ndombele had played CL seasons before and looked really decent (against City) cant remember if Lyon needed to sell? cash strapped also depends on payment terms I would assume - all up front or over x amount of years
  17. His agents and/or the PR machines at Villa and Spuds are on overdrive then Like Spurs are going to offer £40/50m for him - its levy
  18. Agents Villa did this earlier in the Window with Smith-Rowe at Arsenal - last time I looked ESR was still an arsenal player and they made 3 bids I believe
  19. I like to be informed
  20. next up Chambers and ........ (Mane, VVD, Targett etc. etc.!) tbh wouldn't mind Chambers or Targett back
  21. Interesting stuff on the Grealish deal in The Athletic today (obviously didn't read it before). The deal was intense and complicated from start to finish and The Athletic can now explain that: Grealish’s release clause of £100 million was added last summer and was set to expire today, August 7 City did not know about the clause, which allowed Villa to stall The negotiations were led by City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Villa co-owner Nassef Sawiris Villa delayed as long as possible so they could sign players There was dialogue with Real Madrid and Manchester United as Villa preferred not to do business with City Grealish is signing a six-year deal worth £300,000 per week plus bonuses and has the opportunity to earn significantly more The goodbye speech in the Villa dressing room on Wednesday How City kept the fact he’ll wear their No 10 shirt a secret from him. Interesting bit is apparently Villa were trying to sell him to United or Real at a cheaper price/player swap deal instead of letting City have him as they thought it was damaging to the game supposedly.
  22. Look away @Charlie Wayman was going to post this in this tread but...... Updated post-Grealish deal. Varane would take Manchester United back to number one spot but Kane would swing it back City's way. Man City officially into vile Billion Pound territory Christ Arsenal have been poorly managed Pep spent a billion euros in 5 years at city, OGS 390ml euros in 3 years and Klopp 600ml EUR in 6 years. LvG 350ml and Mourinho 400ml. Man U Incredible spending for 1 top four finish. City have won 4 leagues, 6 Carabao cups and 2 Fa cups in that time. United have won 1 league, 1 carabao cup, 1 fa cup and 1 europa league No question over who's spent the money better. 2021 Summer Transfers Arsenal - 3 - £75.2m - Tavares (£8m), Lokonga (£17.2m), White (£50m) Aston Villa - 4 - £83m - Buendia (£33m), Young (free), Bailey (£25m), Ings (£25m) Brentford - 3 - £25.6m - Onyeka (£8.6m), Ajer (£13.5m), Peart-Harris (£3.5m) Brighton - 1 - £18m - Mwepu (£18m) Burnley - 2 - £12m - Collins (£12m), Hennessey (free) Chelsea - 1 - £0 - Bettinelli (free) Crystal Palace - 4 - £40.9m - Olise (£8m), Matthews (free), Guehi (£18m), Andersen (£14.9m) Everton - 3 - £1.7m - Townsend (free), Begovic (free), Gray (£1.7m) Leeds - 2 - £24m - Harrison (£11m), Firpo (£13m) Leicester - 3 - £39m - Daka (£22m), Soumare (£17m), Bertrand (free) Liverpool - 1 - £35m - Konate (£35m) Man City - 1 - £100m - Grealish (£100m) Man Utd - 2 - £73m - Heaton (free), Sancho (£73m) Newcastle - 0 - £0 - Norwich - 6 - £32.4m - Rashica (£9.4m), Gunn (£5m), Gilmour (loan), Lees-Melou (£3.5m), Gibson (£8m), Giannoulis (£6.5m) Southampton - 2 - £11m - Walcott (free), Perraud (£11m) Tottenham - 2 - £21.6m - Gollini (loan), Gil (£21.6m) Watford - 7 - £13.5m - Louza (£10m), Fletcher (free), Rose (free), Dennis (£3.5m), Etebo (loan), King (free), Mebude (free) West Ham - 2 - £2m - Dawson (£2m), Areola (loan) Wolves - 4 - £20.8m - Mosquera (£4.5m), Trincao (loan), Ait-Nouri (£9.5m), Sa (£6.8m) Total Signings: 53 Total Spend: £628,700,000 Transfer Window SLAMS Shut: 11pm, 31 August
