He doesn't want to be a Winger he wants to be CM box to box player / AM - that's why he /wasn't isn't played on the wing for either of those sides Used to love him at saints taking people on and shooting from anywhere - used to get me up off my feet - unsure if he the same type of player these days He injury record isn't as bad as I thought 🙄 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-oxlade-chamberlain/verletzungen/spieler/143424 wages are £120k pw - would have to be halves again (ala Theo) but don't see it happening! it not like he is Theo at the end of his career - I am sure he thinks he can do a job at a BIG FOUR / SIX club or abroad Sure Perrie wouldn't mind coming to live in London
-
So Saw the link to Harry Winks last night - Decent player, keeps things ticking over / possession like a Michael Carrick or a better version of Jack Cork if you like. Seeing as we have JWP, Romeu, Diallo, (Tella, Amstrong, Theo, Redmond, Djenpo - Attacking Mids) Smallbone, & Jankewitz do we actually need him - would it be an upgrade? https://www.google.com/search?q=harry+winks+southampton&rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBGB790GB790&oq=harry+winks+southampton&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.7490j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Is it just agent talk? or Levy trying to get us involved in a deal (ala KWP) on a different note - Ryan Sessengon - could we not try and get him? either on loan, loan to buy or but outright? he is on loan to Hoffenheim at the moment - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Sessegnon
-
I didn't mention you, nor talked about foreseeing the future? but your windmilling since my post is quite ridiculous, its still sunny - get away from the internet and get some fresh air We are all Saints fans (some positive, some negative and some incredibly bed wetting)
-
Totally agree I have never seen a football forum board with so many negative people / supporters on it with unrealistic expectations and no idea about how the game is played Anyway well played Saints
-
Minamino is on £60k pw at the moment Theo - if he would drop to £50k will be staying I assume Different question - would anyone have taken Dawson - I would assume no - but look at how well he is doing at West Ham - so again it comes down to management, system, coaching, personality, ambition and player skill not just he's shit at a particular team because strangely enough sometimes playing for different club means some players become better / fresh start etc.
-
My dad was the sports centre manager in Bath - when they did Superstars there - I walked around in a daze with all these sporting hero's around me (i was young!) Wish they would bring back superstars but its all about the insurance and people getting injured - so it wont happen After we moved to the IOW - Kevin Keegan singing for Saints was the reason I started supporting us
-
thought VAR was going to give that Salisu challenge as a PEN - don't think he touched the ball
-
Penalty 😰
-
I am assumed you want Zinchenco because he is playing at LB or RB Zinchenco is actually a midfielder / 10 being forced to play at LB to get games if he moves do you not think he would want to go back to his natural position and to another big side if he doesn't then would love him
-
totally understand where you are coming from and I for one was surprised that we weren't in for Lookman both times (but who knows we may have been and maybe he doesn't want to play for Ralph again? or he got paid miles more at Fulham? (he is on £55k pw i think - seems affordable for us) - maybe we wanted clauses in the contract if we went down to reduced wages whereas Fulham were happy to pay top wages to him even if they went down?)
-
any chance to post this
-
always said 'when its instinctive, he makes the right choice, when he has to think about it, he makes the wrong choice' I would keep him - he has looked happy and has played fine IMO - obviously depends on the wages, I would assume he will be looking for £50-75k the same as our top players 2 year contract with a 3rd year option He knows the club and the area - is happy here - which surprising enough actually means something (i.e. they are not FIFA sprits) - If we have little money - who else are we going to pursue and then get to settle into team, area etc.
-
While I agree with some of the statements about Leicester, let us not forget they have brought some stinkers along with the decent players, lets not make them out to be the clever transfer people its just they are willing to pay a larger transfer fee and bigger wages - we were in for Maddison and should have been in for Maguire - Tielmans was always off to Man U we all thought but they paid £40m to get him and have just paid £32m on Wesley Fofana - we don't pay though sort of fees (though i would like us to) They have a lot of players on £60/70k wages who don't play very often (Praet etc.) Islam Slimani - left on a FREE after spending £30m on him - 36 appearances - 8 goals in the league and 48 app - 13 goals in total over 3-4 seasons imagine the bed wetting / negativity on here if he had been a Saints player Kelechi Iheanacho - £25m - 81 Appearances - 9 goals in the league and 107 app - 23 goals total over 4 seasons again imagine the posters on here (the woe is me brigade) Aypze Perez = £30m 49 appearances - 9 goals in the league 55 apps and 10 goals in total again imagine this place - the doom merchants OMG Ahmed Musa - £18m 2 seasons - 21 appearances - 2 goals then to on loan now playing in Dubai - imagine some of our posters OMG Arian silva - £23m - left on a FREE 2 seasons - 14 appearances - Not to beat a massive drum but I can imagine certain posters throwing themselves off buildings at this one https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leicester-city/transferrekorde/verein/1003 https://www.transfermarkt.com/leicester-city/rekordabgaenge/verein/1003 https://footballleaguefc.com/leicester-city-2020-21-player-wages/

i agree with nice and friendly - Chris wilder always seems to call it as it is - never blames the refs etc. or shouts that his team were robbed - he seems to be magnanimous in defeat and doesn't look for scapegoats
