Conceding From Our Own Corners

That's what happens when you sell off the two defensive linchpins and fail to replace them when required.

How we reinvested (or tried to) the VVD fee should be a sackable offence. That money will now drift into the club to help cover the cost of wages due to our demise, so it won't be seen on the first team.

Wesley has proven his talent through his performances for Lazio, as well as the Netherlands, and we believe he can develop even further here at Southampton, alongside his international teammate Virgil van Dijk, as well as the likes of Jack Stephens, Maya Yoshida, Jan Bednarek and Florin Gardos.

Conceding from our own corners is nothing to do with selling off "our two defensive lynchpins". Unless you think they would have scored from the awful tadic corners, then they would have been in the opposing penalty area for the corner. The issue is that we have awful AMs taking awful corners and they are unable to get back and defend, and we do not cover our corners adequately with players in the middle of the park. Trying to blame this trend on central defenders is laughable. So much of our problem this season has been down to our AM trio of Tadic, Boufal and Redmond. At least when JWP takes corners we don't usually end up conceding from them.

Lack of pace & strength basically. I don't think our lads are fit enough to win tackles or to cover when the ball is lost.

Talking of corners, when did it become fashionable to not leave a player on the half way line when defending corners?
