The Football League's statement does NOT say we can't appeal it just says talks are ongoing. Sky have got it wrong it "seems"

BOARD STATEMENT ON SOUTHAMPTON

Posted on: 22.06.2009

The Board of The Football League met today to consider representations from the 'Pinnacle Group' with regard to their proposed takeover of Southampton Football Club.

The Football League has the responsibility to ensure all League clubs start the season with certainty as regards the competition they compete in.

With that in mind, The Football League has responded directly to the Pinnacle Group, and will continue to liaise with their representatives going forward.

Not really any news at all.

i think the majority of saints fans have come to terms with the 10 point deduction. jsut acecpt it and lets start the rebuild. the best way to get back at the football league will be promotion, with two fingers up straight in their direction.

use the sense of injustice as a rallying call, the FL attitude stinks but that is what football authorities are like at all levels.

use this to appeal to the supporters of southampton football club to buy season tickets, shirts etc and as a launch pad for the future

if you are serious that is

Dear Tony

Please just accept the 10 points deduction, take over the club & then let us move forward & start rebuilding this great club. Please don't pull out for the sake of 3 wins & a draw.

Best Regards

Agree 100 percent lee

Accepting now that the club will not appeal the 10 points is one thing, but it could have much more severe consequences:

By accepting the 10 points do we then not also implicitly acknowledge that it was the football club that went into administration, and not just the holding company?

If so, that would in turn allow the FL to demand that the football club comes to an arrangement with all creditors (what was that called, CVS or CSV or something?).

But because in the eyes of the LAW the holding company is in administration it is the holding company's creditors, and not the club's creditors that things need to be settled with.

So it may not even be legally possible for the club to make such a settlement.

I think people are worrying too much about this kind of thing.

SLH will no longer exist come the takeover, and no, the football league isn't going to ask for creditors to be settled twice over, once for SLH and once for SFC.

This whole affair is getting frankly ridiculous - the ten points was non negotiable 80 days ago, and non negotiable 21 days ago.

Pinnacle using it now to buy even more time is seriously, seriously worrying.

If MLT wasn't involved I think Mr Lynham would be getting slaughtered on here. He's a lucky guy to have a Saints legend alongside him.
