Are we likely to hear anything over the weekend regarding the takeover?

any ideas on what I should do over the weekend, I have 2 options

1) stay at home, watching, rugby, wimbldon and regularly checking here for updates

or

2) bugger off and get as far away from here as posible?

Why has everyone suddenly got such a downer in the Pinnacle bid ?

I know that the money guy wasn't Branson, Lloyd Webber or Stewart but just because after some goggle searches it doesn't seem to show where MF's wealth is from everyone goes anti Pinnacle, and in my opinion downright disrespectful to people looking to save our club. If fans turn this quickly from 'good old Tony', thanks for the information etc to Pinnacle are s***, moneyman is a fraud, don't post again Tony etc.. I pity anyone who may buy/save our club.

1) Do you think that someone without money would spend up to '7 figures' preparing to buy the club, TL is a genuine guy and would not Bull****, and of course nether would MLT, MF also came across well in his interview on Thursday.

2) Fry has to look at other offers now that the exclusivity period has past, and maybe he feels that the FL standoff is unresolveable. It doesn't mean that he doesn't believe that the Pinnacle bid won't happen. He hasn't discredited the Pinnacle bid from what I've read or seen.

3) We don't know exactly what on top of the -10 points the FL are imposing on the SFC licence, Pinnacle described it as minor (can't be that minor) but because of it being unresolved maybe the conditions are unacceptable not just for Pinnacle but for any potential buyer.

Please just give all interest parties a chance to get this issue sorted out one way or the other, don't over react to a few news reports, press articles or negative posters on forums.

Totally agree with M271. These guys are looking to spend their own hard earned money and potentially waste it on a football investment (as did the original shareholders of SLH - me included). You have to accept that Fry did his due diligence on all interested parties and check on proof of funds. Not only is it disrespectful to question these guys integrity, it is likely to push them away from the deal. Why would they want all this hassle for potentially a loss making venture. We should be supporting and encouraging their efforts not questioning their background. If none of these 3 bidders complete then Saints are history.

Probably because MF actually has no money and was put up as a front by Pinnacle as the real money men had walked away just after Pinnacle (Leon Crouch) paid for Exclusivity

But like so many others you have no REAL evidence to support this theory and yet like some other people on here you seem to think that rumour=fact. You probably don't understand the business world to know how due diligence works. If you did you would realise that these stories are probably nonsense.

M271 is dead right, we are on the verge of extinction down to Lowe and Wilde, but now people want to blame Lynam and Fry, the only ones so far to have even come close to having a genuine bid. We would already be dead by now if it hadn't been for them and the Swiss bid would not have even occurred (if indeed it has).

The swiss had the money for the exclusivity, so saying Pinnacle have kept us going isn't actually correct.....

Maybe i don't fully understand the DD process, but do you honestly think MF has the money to complete?

Vectis you are hilarious. In one breath you complain about any crticism of potential buyers about which you know nothing, because you dont want to scare off the last chance - yet it was thousands of people boycotting games because Lowe was in charge that partly caused this mess. Remind me, how much did you want Lowe to stay and how supportive of him were you?

I don't think the majority of fans are in the camp ''WE WANT SOMEONE WITH MORE MONEY'' - the fact is that 100% of us just want a club to support and if someone is willing to put their investment in – that’s great.

What I’m concerned about with this Pinnacle bid is how long it's been dragged out, the inconsistencies of tony’s posts and the way the money man was thrown into the limelight how he was.

I know we've been put through this before (helpmerhonda fame) - but this does have an irritatingly close resemblance to it.

All these dreams about premiership football, KK as manager...how about walking before you run? It’s great to have ambition but it’s also great to have a bit of realism.

I lost all faith in Pinnacle after last Friday, they had 21 days to do a deal - they didn't. We kept hearing ''it will be resolved soon’’ ‘‘it will be resolved in a timely manner'' - but where are we? We're now in exactly the same position we were in last month, albeit worse.

If Pinnacle had any sense they would have gone into a deal with the ‘possibility’’ of further points deductions and the ‘possibility’ of two seasons in league 1....but it seems like they didn’t. That’s why I doubt their credibility.

My guess, based on nothing more than spending too much time on here is...

Pinnacle had a backer worth 100m+ as originally stated. This money man dropped out when it became clear -10 points would become -25 by the start of the season. Since then Tony L has been chasing around trying to find new money and the best he could come up with was MF.

And so blame,if any, should be directed at the FL for running a flawed system, the original money man for getting cold feet so late in the day, and Tony L for not coming clean earlier about the lost money

No official source has ever mentioned that we'd be docked more than 10 points !

It's only on here that some posters have ASSUMED that this may be the case !

Mark Fry alluded to the fact that -10 was a sticking point for Pinnacle but nothing more, so why is there a bandwagon for -25 ?????

To be fair, the FL set out their position in April, having taken the trouble to do a forensic survey of the relationship between the 3 companies.

If the automatic 10 points deduction applies then so does the possibility of further deductions/relegation under the FL's insolvency policy. The FL said this in their April statement which was posted on the FL website and the OS. How this could have become a genuine "new" issue 10 days ago is beyond me.

The other thing is that Fry should be able to get a CVA for SLH plc and avoid further sanctions as part of an overall settlement between the creditors, Fry and the new owners.

The extra points deduction is not a foregone conclusion.

Completely agree with everything said in this post. I stayed away from the forum for a few days and return to see everyone has become a cynic.

It's shocking and is bound to put off any potential investors, especially when this forum has so much power (even as far as controlling the local newspaper ;))

I know things may not have gone as completely to plan as some people would have wished but this is football, matters will be resolved eventually. We will still have a club by the start of the season and regardless of who owns the club (except Lowe), this time in 6 weeks ... I will be on my way to St. Marys in the sun with a season ticket.

I know this may be a bit early for the whole "I told you so..." but there is at least some reward for keeping faith in Le God

I cant help thinking that if i was trying to buy something for somebody else for 10+ million i would be quite happy to drag it out a couple of weeks if i thought it might save a couple of mill even if it meant taking it to the wire. i am as desperate as anyone to see this sorted but whomever signs will have business before emotion. i would love to see MLT as chair, but at the end off the day its going to go to the wire, hopefully the best option for all will win out. i just wish i could find the new line button on my portable media thingy!!!
