benjii Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 --------------MP/MF/New------------- GM-----------CP-------WT--------JM LJ--------SG--------MS----------LH -------------SJ-------BWP--------- That excludes Lallana, Jake Thomson, Paul Wotton, Ollie Lancashire, Matt Paterson + the new trialist striker and also Saganowski and Rasiak. If we can keep John and sign Murty, we actually have a decent blend.
saints_is_the_south Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 Lloyd James at right wing? Gotta be having a laugh! The boy struggles to run at right back, would hate to see him deployed at right mid! People who watch the reserves/youth teams on a regular basis say his best position is DM so why not give him a go there?
matthieu Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 who is MF in goal? Mark Fry? Michael Fialka?

I agree, but I wouldn't want to play him with Gillet as they would be a tiny twosome, and I think Gillet needs to be in the team as none of our other midfielders have a good enough engine. Bear in mind, we're playing Ajax, so I wanted a bit of solidity. If things are going well, we can stick JT or BWP on the wing and shuffle Lloyd. The9 Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 Bags/shotgun me up front, number 9. I reckon I could rustle up a couple of quid if it comes down to it. I'll even promise to have a go at that van Basten-type scorpion kick reverse overhead kick goal too, that'll bring in the crowds.
Hopkins Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 I'd like to know why it excludes Jake Thomson. He'll be a first team regular next season IMO. Along with Gobern and quite possibly Ollie Lancashire.

May aswell keep him at RB then & start JT at right mid, we need a winger with abit of pace & someone who can run at players, JT seems that sort. I still also harbour some hope of Kelvin staying, he is clearly hanging on to see whether the takeover goes through otherwise he'd have signed for West Ham 2 days ago. Hopefully that goes through over the weekend & then he can stay with us. So based on that here would be my team: Davis James - Perry - Thomas - Mills Thomson - Gillett - Schnerderlin - Holmes Rasiak - John That leaves Lancashire, Wotton, Lallana, Saga, Patterson plus BWP & Euell if they decide to stay in the end. Not a bad side for L1 IMO.

saintsforlife7 Posted 3 July, 2009 Share Posted 3 July, 2009 Bart ========= Murty Thomas Perry Mills ========= Lallana James Gillett Holmes ========= John Paterson I'd have Rasiak starting over John, but apart from that, my pick for the starting 11, and one with alot of promise, on paper! Rebel Posted 4 July, 2009 Share Posted 4 July, 2009 Rasiak, Saga and Thomas will all be going as there wages are too big for League 1. Thomas is on something like £8K a week - and he's the cheapest of the three. Kelvin will also be gone by Monday I exepect. I can't really see Lallana and Schneiderlin hanging around either. I can Saejis coming back if Wotte stays as manager though.
