red&white56 Posted 28 July, 2009 Share Posted 28 July, 2009 9,500 season ticket holders - I'm not one of them. I've just bought 3 tickets for the Milwall game in the Northam but could only get block 40 upper tier. Does this mean a good crowd for the game (20,000+)? trousers Posted 28 July, 2009 Share Posted 28 July, 2009 Not sure we should be talking about the first game yet (in just over one week) as pardew hasn't had time to pull a team or back room staff together yet... ;-)

Many posters keep saying that pre-season is all about fitness and forget the result. Well whether we're ready or not the season starts in under 2 weeks. Rocker268 Posted 28 July, 2009 Share Posted 28 July, 2009 I don't think the attendance will be massive because of holidays, my parents and brother are all Season Ticket holders but can't make it because of holidays and I guess that will be the same with a lot of people. The match is also on sky so people may decide to stay at home/in a pub to watch the match instead

I booked yesterday and couldn't get two tickets next to each other from block 4-6, but I think the bloke on the phone was a bit of a spaz. Ended up in the Kingsland corner for the first time ever, better be good.

dune Posted 29 July, 2009 Share Posted 29 July, 2009 As others have said the opening fixture is never huge due to holidays. Also you need to factor in that it's Millwall - families will think twice. It's also on SKY. Brentford at home will be a bigger gate in my view especially if we've got a few "results" prior and the interest level is notched up. Saints Warrior Posted 30 July, 2009 Share Posted 30 July, 2009 3200! dont think they have that many who go away with average 9800 for home games. But that could well boost the numbers to 20,000 to 22,000 which would be good for that leaque. About 20 teams in Div 3 (old name) had 10,000 or less average gate last season so lets not get to hopefull on gates as away fans wont be at full capacity.
