If that is true - we have a terrible away support.

We have very good away support in this league & in the CCC I am always surprised how many away fans we take & expect Charlton to be a good turn out 2000 to 2500 would be my guess.

I love London away days train up few bears good sing song can't wait for Saturday hope Papa makes his debuet COYR

No we don't. We rarely take more than 1000 north of Birmingham. and even then don't make much noise except for the odd rare occassion. hopefully have big turnouts at Carlisle and Hartlepool being new grounds for people. How many on here are planning on going to Oldham?

I think a 1000 + north of Birmingham is good support whilst I dont go to every away game the one's I have been to the last few season's have been good & noisey.

Stoke Wolves Birmingham West Brom Forest liecester Derby Coventry Man City (cup) Doncaster over the last 3 seasons these all spring to mind with us having a lot more than 1000 away fans.

The games south of Birmingham often have 2000 to 3000 QPR Watford Reading Charlton Swindon Bristol Crystal palace are all games last 3 seasons we have had good & vocal numbers. If thats not decent away support I stand corrected.

Watford was quality, but I haven't seen that level of noise and support at an away game since, it's a shame :(

Anyone know how they're going?

I bought mine today, hoping they open up the extra allocation, could see it being similar to Reading away last season (big away following, confident home side who haven't lost infront of their own fans), for some reason I've got a good feeling about it.

Bring on the "chaos"

That was the best away game I went to last season, hope you're right.

Reading & Forest was good particularly Forest.

Forest & Watford away last season brought a tear to my eye proud to be a Saints fan with that support I hope Saturday is as good.

I intend to get Badgered have a sing song and a good day out

Yeah I went to Watford, which was my first league away game I think and it was great... Then I went to Sheffield Wednesday away and was seriously disappointed that it wasn't the same atmosphere. And I haven't seen it like Watford since. I am proper looking forward to Saturday and I hope it will be similar to what I saw at Watford, and what I have heard of Forest.

Crystal Palace away 04/05, awesome atmosphere. Higgy in the last minute, cue mental celebrations.

Well p!ssed off for this one !

My mate's best mate is a director at Charlton and I have been in the director's box there a few times when we have played, but at the moment he is in Asia, so no chance to go !

I was hoping to meet Markie, Nic & Oldie but it looks like I'll have to live with my memories of a duck chasing, rosy cheeked, arrogant git who I met on previous occasions !!

Life really can be a schweinhund at times, grrrrrr.....

The best supports we've had recently were, Charlton and Palace away in the season we stayed up against Sheff Utd on the last day. Reading, Watford and Forest last season.. and that's been about it really.

Ipswich away last season (midweek) was pretty much non-stop and just like 'the old days'.

My last 2 aways have been Sheff Weds last season and Swindon this; both utterly dire from top to bottom. I'm going on Saturday and everything crossed for a decent turn out from the fans and the team!

Yeah true, just weird going to a game alone let alone an away 1 :( i know i will regret it if i dont, the last time this happened i missed us beat Wolves 6-0 :(

Yeah I guess, but you won't feel alone when you get there. I got a season ticket with a mate who seems to like pulling out of doing things at the last minute, but I would definitely still go to games on my own if this was the case, cos once you're there, you're with thousands of other Saints fans! You will regret it and you never know, we could beat Charlton 6-0, so you should probably go just in case. The more people getting behind the lads the better!
