Justin C Posted 9 October, 2009 Share Posted 9 October, 2009 He is an example of why football is so great. If you watch certain clips of him he looks like he has never played the game especially with the off side rule! He reminds me of Wanchop who never looked like he ever had the ball under control but always came away with it. Against Gills it was like he learnt the game in an hour, in the first 20 mins he was like a fish out of water (a bit like when Kenwyne came on at RM against pompey) but he settled down and looked good. He could be good for us, but we will be very frustrated at times with him but it will be worth it.

Under Weststand Posted 9 October, 2009 Share Posted 9 October, 2009 Seems as Ap has said it may well take him a week or two to get fully to grips with the football at this level. Also think he will frustrate as much as he excites at times, but as he continues to get to grips with this league, & the speed of the English game he will become a bigger threat at this level. glkdcdes Posted 9 October, 2009 Share Posted 9 October, 2009 Papa was good as was the whole team. Definately gives a new dimension to the team, made some telling passes, missed a very good chance, but shot was well saved. Did give the ball away in dangerous positions a couple of times and against a better team this could have cost us. Would give him 7 1/2.
Arizona Posted 9 October, 2009 Share Posted 9 October, 2009 Just back and I'd agree Papa looked good. Despite his pace he never troubled the by line that often, but he is definitely that burst of energy our attacks have been missing for some time. His best moments were a shot second half which was blocked and collecting the ball just outside our area defending a corner, skinning two Southend players, tearing down the other end of the pitch and cutting the ball back for someone ( couldn't really tell in the bright lights and mist) who had two efforts saved. Not our best player, but an honnourable mention.

Danny R Posted 10 October, 2009 Share Posted 10 October, 2009 I thought he looked excellent tonight. His tracking back was really and he made loads of timely interceptions. He gave the ball away a couple of times at the most, hasn't taken him long get used to League One at all.

Genk Posted 10 October, 2009 Share Posted 10 October, 2009 Papa had a good game tonight, best I have seen him play. Mention to the young Reading lad on loan...when he came on he looked a handful and his pace caused their left back alot of trouble 2 or 3 times. Just what we needed, a bit of pace on the wings. Griffo Posted 10 October, 2009 Share Posted 10 October, 2009 The paparazzi song for Waigo was absolutely cringeworthy. Stick to the "BOOM BOOM BOOM, LET ME HEAR YOU SAY WAIGO, WAIGO!

I didn't hear that song, altough I heard people talking about it after the game. It must be bad if you think the "Boom Boom" song is LESS cringeworth. eurosaint Posted 10 October, 2009 Share Posted 10 October, 2009 Why did I read that thread title and think that it was a recent quote from a 12 year old Pompey lass ????

RedAndWhite91 Posted 11 October, 2009 Share Posted 11 October, 2009 Yeah thought he played well and is getting better by the game, looked threatening and should have got a goal but played well and genuinely continues to impress.
