RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 He was only on for about 2 minutes, but he said he loves it here, loves his football, wants to get into the play offs, understands Saints are a big club compared to the likes of Bristol Rovers where he has played before. The interviewer had only good things to say about Saints too. Short and sweet.
St Landrew Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 He was interviewed on Radio Solent on Saturday after the game. His scouser accent came across as a little grating [sorry, just can't stand the nasal noise], but I forgave him. And let's face it, at the moment, it's dead easy to forgive anything Ricky Lambert might do, that could possibly annoy.

Stanley Saint Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Was going through a pile of papers for recycling yesterday, and found the echo's 'pre-season' supplement tucked in the pile. There was a round-up of all the opposition 'players to watch out for' by Gordon Flash Watson, and number one on his list was 'Bristol Rovers striker Richard Lambert'; 'He's as strong as an ox and gets his head in there first at set pieces' (actually, the echo used the wrong 'there', but I've kindly corrected their copy for them to save embarrassment), says Gordon, 'The kind of player that Southampton could do with'. Very prescient, I thought. I'll give Flash more creedence from now on.
Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Flash was always a fantastic co-commentator on Radio Hampshire. Had a really good understanding of the game.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 He was on the football league podcast the other week. A good 5-10 mins interview talking about the step up, new training/eating etc. Probably still on the website or itunes.
pap Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 I'm well surprised at his Scouser accent, forgot he was from Liverpool! He's from Fazakerley, which sounds great when you hear a scouser saying it. If we sign Rooney we'll be scoused out. Proper boss, mate.

He's from Fazakerley, which sounds great when you hear a scouser saying it. If we sign Rooney we'll be scoused out. Proper boss, mate. Fazakerley in scouse sounds just like the "exactly" from the Accrington Stanley milk advert from the 80s -
