dubai_phil Posted 18 September, 2008 Share Posted 18 September, 2008 He was due to have his scan yesterday. Any rumours? (Other than Alpine's) :-)

dubai_phil Posted 18 September, 2008 Author Share Posted 18 September, 2008 last night JP said he is likely to play Saturday. I won't bait Alpine as he seems reasonable today! No I don't bait him hence the smiley, was just trying to get an answer not get "hit with the negative vibes Moriarity"... Like I said, he's made his point and that's fair and has his valid opinion on things, I may join him in doom and gloom land, but not until the loan window closes and I am also unfortunately a realist and STILL haven't found a viable alternative to what we're trying to do as a strategy. (although I may suggest that we could alter the implementation when I finally have an opinion on things!)

He wound me up on this subject and I was close to starting again -but posted some balanced posts today so maybe he has changed?! Don't mind the different opinions -although some must think hard to find negative in everything!

He wound me up on this subject and I was close to starting again -but posted some balanced posts today so maybe he has changed?! Don't mind the different opinions -although some must think hard to find negative in everything! Thing is, (barring the negativity) he often talks a lot of sense. It is possible to get a real feel for what's needed from a distance when you follow the team and take note of all the comments from various sources. Amazing how often a considered 'gut' feeling turns out to be right! Would you agree?
NickG Posted 19 September, 2008 Share Posted 19 September, 2008 of course. We listen to pundits and reporters who watch us once in a blue moon etc. Thoughts opinions are all going to vary and you can make them with little personal knowledge. I have opinions on players in the premiership who I have rarely seen. Alpine has posted some balanced comments in last few days so I am not going to rake up any posting styles that I disagree with. Think we all realise we are not a great side but equally not everything needs moaning about.

alpine_saint Posted 19 September, 2008 Share Posted 19 September, 2008 According to the OS today, he is missing tomorrow. He also needed an injection to his knee According to the same article, he will play on Tuesday or maybe Saturday if not ready. So, my question is : When will the club stop insulting our intelligence and stop lying to us and admit he is really injured again, and that the knee hasnt stood up to the demands put on it ??? Agreed, there does seem to be a lot of mixed messages coming out about Killer's fitness. Also, they're being very cagey about the severity of Thomas' injury - not to mention complete silence on Skacel who played 90 minutes for the reserves two Mondays ago but hasn't been mentioned since. Perhaps they're scared of depressing the fans even more, given the current league position, and don't want attendances to drop further

How the **** do you know squire - are you the club Doctor or perhaps Mrs Killer? I wish you'd keep your doom and despondency to yourself - I'm looking forward to a few pints and watching a good match where we stuff Barnsley tomorrow. They are part of the club, so tell us about their fitness. Lowe's poor PR was always what I slated him for and this situation stinks of his poor decision making. derry Posted 19 September, 2008 Share Posted 19 September, 2008 Complete bolllocks - he requires injections. You are a sad individual. It was in the Echo at 0700, changed during the day and went on the OS about 1800.

Go to the injuries page of the team section OS. I think Thomas has a bad knee injury.
saint lard Posted 20 September, 2008 Share Posted 20 September, 2008 IMO,we are clutching at straws reference Killers Knee,he trained Thursday but was unable to train yesterday due to problems with the aforementioned Knee. This tells me that the club and he are just prolonging the inevietable,he can't carry on playing every other game let alone the rigours of training followed by a competitive game. This is of no use to him or the club. All IMO.

Burnsie Posted 20 September, 2008 Share Posted 20 September, 2008 When will the club stop insulting our intelligence and stop lying to us and admit he is really injured again, and that the knee hasnt stood up to the demands put on it ??? While we're on it, why have they reprinted (if that's the appropriate term) Jan's extraordinary claim that WBA had 3 points after 9 games last season? It could scarcely be further from the truth: they had 17 by then and were third in the table.

Perhaps our hearts are ruling our heads and also we are giving him a couple more days to recover so he could play the next 2. It is not a satisfactory situation I agree. I certainly think a 75% of what we had before Killer would have been an asset, but if he is in and out of the side it really doesn't do anyone any favours. We need some stability and something we can build around. IMHO unless he can play regularly he should probably only be used for emegency purposes.
