Andy_Porter Posted 19 July, 2010 Share Posted 19 July, 2010 Won me a nifty with his goal against Exeter. For this I will love him forever. Will ignore all the money I lost through betting on him
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 19 July, 2010 Share Posted 19 July, 2010 In all honesty I can't say I ever viewed Lloyd James as a particularly special young player but if memory serves his manager did consistently praise him as a rising star for much of last season . His fall from grace therefore has been rather spectacular and not a little mysterious I might add . Did AP just reevaluate or did something happen behind the scenes ? We may never know . Good luck to the lad anyway - I never saw him give less than his best .
Andy_Porter Posted 19 July, 2010 Share Posted 19 July, 2010 I think Pardew would have wanted him to stay but obviously couldn't guarentee first team football so Lloydy decided to leave. Just a hunch mind, no idea if it's true.
Saint Garrett Posted 19 July, 2010 Share Posted 19 July, 2010 Would have been ok cover at best, wasn't ever going to be a starter. He only has so many appearances for us because he came through when we had no money and unable to buy anyone !
SNSUN Posted 19 July, 2010 Share Posted 19 July, 2010 Cold night at Crystal Palace in December '08, we lost 3-0 under the floodlights in the ill fated Dutch regime, and my Palace mate was in hysterics at how a great lumbering lummox of a player like Kuqi was making us look stupid. After the game, he told me the only positives in our team were our right back, Lloyd James, and Jack Cork. He's a trier, but had our team not been so gash in the CCC, I don't think he would've had a look in. Good luck to him, but we now have a better utility player in Butterfield.
