david in sweden Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 especially when they net income for us like the £300K that came from the Wolves signing of Jelle Van Damme..a very expensive reject at Saints who cost us around £2 million in the first place. Now it seems that homesick Jelle wants back to Belgium to comfort his very pregnant wife, (and who can blame him for that ?) ..but I was wondering if there may be other such deals in the pipeline that might net Nicola Cortese a bit more for his January transfer budget ..? There were rumours on here some time ago that we might have / had a % of the earlier Kenwyne Jones deal to Sund'land?, and did we get something when Peter Crouch moved from Liverpool? I rather lost track of these items that begin to sound like the Marx Brothers "sanity clause". Anyone ITK on other possible kick-backs?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 I think we cashed in early on all of the clauses we still had when we were strapped for cash.
Hoggins Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Hopefully we have a % of Bale's next move.
SuperMikey Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Hopefully we have a % of Bale's next move. I think we cashed that in. Something like £2m and Tommy Forecast.
beatlesaint Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 I think we cashed that in. Something like £2m and Tommy Forecast. Thats correct, we did. Bale and Theo are the two i recall us cashing in when we didnt have a pot to urinate in !
Saint_clark Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 Jones had no sell on clause. The only ex-player now who is likely to have any kind of sell-on/appearance fee etc. is McGoldrick, but even that is unlikely given how desperate we were at the time. saintmatt Posted 7 October, 2010 Share Posted 7 October, 2010 the only sell-on clause involved in kenwyne jones' move to sunderland was the c.£1m we had to pay to the club in trinidad & tobago!
fish fingers Posted 8 October, 2010 Share Posted 8 October, 2010 In the other direction i'm pretty sure we have to pay Bournemouth a % of what we sell Lallana for. Their fans think its 25%, if true then we should let him go on a free.
saintmatt Posted 8 October, 2010 Share Posted 8 October, 2010 or sell him and a nobody in a double deal and claim the nobody was responsible for 90% of the fee?happened when derby sold malcolm christie and chris riggott to boro a few years back - they told the authorities that riggott was responsible for 90% of the fee so they could avoid having to pay christie's former club a dell-on fee.think it went to tribunal, not sure what happened there

Ok, Stoke might...
