AndyD Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 Debating getting Lambert 7 on the back of either the home or away shirt before the S Weds game next month - could any kind soul tell me if we're planning on wearing either next year or it is just the 1 season as it's the 125th year? Cheers COYR You can expect two new shirts next season, Cortese has hinted at getting a new shirts sponsor on previously so new shirts are part and parcel of that. Colinjb Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 I believe they are both one year specials. Next year there will be new designs with a sponsor and our regular logo.
Golden Balls Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 There will definately be a new home shirt next season. That is the only ITK bit of info I've had in a loooong time (even though it's pretty much public knowledge)

The9 Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 ALL of our Umbro shirts are one year only, it was announced when the original deal was announced in 2008/9. It was only due to administration, unsold stock and flybe unexpectedly extending their sponsorship for one more season for 2009/10 that we kept the first Umbro striped shirt for two seasons. Definitely two new shirts for next season. I also heard a rumour that the club weren't going to be discounting any of the shirts to sell them off either... bearing in mind in previous seasons they've been reduced by January, looks likely. SuperMikey Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 Doesn't matter how long the kit is going to last, any fully grown man that gets a player's name on the back of their shirt is a bit sad really... get your own name on it! Then you can pretend you're playing for Saints! COOL!

Then you can pretend you're playing for Saints! COOL! I have one short-sleeved blank back and one long-sleeved with my name on the back this season - but that's only so my wife could get her new surname on the back of hers. Other than that one, all my probably 30 or so Saints shirts from the last 30 years have blank backs. Apart from anything, £12 is a massive rip-off to get a name and number. Correct the home shirt will definately NOT be reduced & I think the away is very unlikely to be too. Some of the leisurewear is nearly sold out & will not be replenished so unlikely to be much if any reduced too.

Some of the leisurewear is nearly sold out & will not be replenished so unlikely to be much if any reduced too. All in all I think that's a stupid decision by the club, I collect the things and there is no way I'm paying more than £15 for that crappy black away shirt, even the warm-up black training tops with red sleeves look better as an away kit. Just for the record, if anyone wants to buy the red Saints away socks with black turnovers, the current Blackburn away socks are identical and on sale on JJB Sports' website for £6, which is £4 less than Saints. The home socks can be bought at JJB online as Wales goalkeeper socks for £6 as well. They are absolutely identical, even the contrast colour toe and heel are the same. And of course the green and the light blue Saints GK socks are the same for almost all Umbro-wearing teams, and £6 at JJB as well. It would be the same with the shorts if it wasn't for the team logo...
doggface Posted 14 February, 2011 Share Posted 14 February, 2011 I guess it all depends how much stock they have left I guess. I'm not a big fan of the away either, but items with no sponsor on will always be very popular.
Son of Bob Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 This season was very much a one-off so I've got both home and away kits, something I've never done before. Worth it though as it'll be a long time before we see another sponsorless kit!
