Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 Wins against Man C, Liverpool, Chelsea were great but at some stage we need to start winning against the bottom 10 in the league. TOP 10 P5 W3 D1 L1 BOTTOM 10 P4 W0 D2 L2 If we had won againt QPR, NORWICH and WIGAN rather than Man C, Liverpool and Chelsea we would be better off than we are. Few our now asking is Mario only getting players up for the showbiz games? Can we beat teams around us BIG test today............
Andre Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 Today will be very telling. Not sure if it's Pochettino per sé, but perhaps the players feeling the pressure more against 'smaller' teams.
Bananaman Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 I always feel that we play better against teams that try and play football rather than sitting back (I.e reading, qpr) I'm not sure if it's a question of can they beat teams in x half of the table but more a question of; is there enough creativity there to break down stubborn defences
Saint Without a Halo Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 Doesnt really matter where the 40 points come from! But I agree its time we put the bottom teams away in the 6 pointers! look at the effect our 2 wins over Villa have had in our respective league places this season! Seaford Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 It's. an interesting question.....we should stuff Reading out of sight. If we don't not sure we'll identify the reasons why....it's the wrong match to apply the question. West Ham next Saturday or Stoke Swansea.... John Boy Saint Posted 6 April, 2013 Share Posted 6 April, 2013 Seems to be in the genetic make up of Saints, donkeys years ago even when we were nowhere near the danger zone, we would lose against a teams below us and my Grandad would always comment "typical Saints beat the teams above them, struggle against the ones below them: been the same for years". That was back in the 80s.

We struggle breaking through 10-men defences, but we do well against teams that come to win and play attacking football, as the game opens up in a way that suits our style. If Reading play football and don't just park the bus, we'll be fine. If they 'do a QPR' against us we'll struggle.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 28 April, 2013 Author Share Posted 28 April, 2013 Haha bottom 13.....that´s an all time best on here!! Trying to find some positives here If we take a 50/50 cut we start looking average / poor all round. At least our record vs top 7 is good

Stepgar Posted 28 April, 2013 Share Posted 28 April, 2013 If I recall were we not beating the bottom (those around us) at the middle of the season, villa Newcastle QPR. Getting draws although should haves against Norwich, Sunderland Swansea ? What's changed? Other than the manager.

sammysaint Posted 28 April, 2013 Share Posted 28 April, 2013 Hes made us a better side, in regards to performances and his record is ok, i feel very confident in him and next season were be in WBAs position, Lucky for us WBA will drop off to a 11th-14th postion side unless they re sign Lukaku they guy is pure class Chelsea would of saved them selfs 8 million on BA if they used him this season, he has got Lambos strength skill and shot power and Mayukas pace. MPs only bad move is playing Jos vs quick strikers Fonte is much better all round.
