Just a quick idea, never thought about it untill now. why are we cr4p in the first half yet ok in the second? Could it be becuase Lowe does indeed give a team talk before the game where as at half time he has to do his chairman bit and meet the opposing chairman for prawn sandwiches and port, so JP takes the half time chat??

Don't instantly dismiss this, think about it, digest it, what do you think??

We are good when we are 2 or 3 down. Thats reasonably simple to understand. The opposition take their foot off the gas, and let us play, sit back and counter attack. Sometimes it makes us look very good, and we do indeed have a rousing comeback. Occassionally the opposition get so nervous they collapse a la Preston. But its no good waiting until the game has got away from us. We have to be good from the start, as we somehow managed to be at Reading. JP has no idea why this is, and is not able to motivate the players to play well from the off, that is why he is out of his depth, and why a different manager would be able to get more out of this squad. We are clearly not crap, we just lack someone decent to motivate and manage the team.

It's just as likely that the players cannot translate instructions because of their age and inexperience.

I instantly dismissed this theory as total rubbish. For fear of being labelled a Lowe Luvvie (whatever that may be) the whole idea that the man 'talks tactics' is total bollux.

I wouldn.t call you a lowe luvvie for having a different opinion to me, thats your right.

It is total bollux, but would you really, really put it beyond this ego obsessed chairman?

What is he doing on the pitch, in the dug out and in the dressing room? I know he can go where ever he wants, i understand he is the boss, but surely it can't be good for the team or manager or the club for that matter. He is the chairman of the PLC his job is in the boardroom, that should be where his total 100% concentration is. Not in the tunnel before the game, surely you would agree he'd be best of entertaining the opposistion chairman, directors and potential investors in the boardroom, i've heard the radio saying "i'm down in the tunnel, Mr. Lowe is over there talking to Jack Corke" get away from the team!

I would accept that he should distance himself from the playing staff becuase his input is unlikely to have any bearing whatsoever on any of the games. Lets be honest, no professional player in thier right mind is ever going to listen to any 'tactics, coaching or playing advice' that is given out by Rupert Lowe.

That said - for people on here to honestly think (and publish) that he does give the team talks and such like is totally laughable.

I agree 110%. I think we conceded 3 goals in 11 minutes because Lowe gave the team talk. I reckon his talk was so **** that he probably told them to not bother stopping goal attempts for the first 12 minutes.

Yeah, that's right. It's almost certainly the case. Lowe tells them to lose, because he only knows about Hockey, where that's the objective. JP then has to tell them the opposite at half time, because he knows Total Football.

Nail on the head there mate, agree 125%. What we need is for someone who knows about football to give the team talk! I would like to see someone like Jimmy Hill involved. He knows football and has been involved at the highest level. Given the way the boys came out for the second half maybe we should keep Jan as the 2nd half team talker. I don't think Lowe's negative instructions should be allowed anymore.....certainly not if we want to stay in this division.
