to get away unscathed from yesterdays pathetic embarassment of a "football match". To all of those who say "stick behind the boys during the game" ,you can now see how inspired our boys were by a capacity crowd , who backed them 100%. Van de Saar could have taken his deck chair out their with him - not even a corner for fecks sake !!

Our much feted academy was shown up to be exactly what it is - a cheap option made up of players who donot deserve the chance at this level and will disappear without trace in a couple of seasons.

The ref did Rupert a big favour by becoming public enemy number one - but this shower of sh*te will be adrift at the bottom in a few weeks unless personnel changes are made pronto !!

JP has amply illustrated why he has never managed a decent sized club before, and thus confirmed Rupert knows less than nothing about our beloved game !

We played Man United by the way, hardly suprising we got spanked.

Obviously we were expecting to get thrashed, but we were at least hoping for a little bit of effort and fight. There wasn't much evidence of that sadly, we managed like one shot on target :(

it was not the losing but the manner of the defeat.

Our style of play just made it easy for united, to try and match them for football skill was plain stupid.

Both Southend and Gillingham showed that you need to get in their faces and push players onto their back 4, even when we had 11 we still passed it square and backwards.

Even allowing for the fact that we were playing Man Utd, the application of the players was poor in comparison with the supporters who were great.

We are victims of our own apathy , with supporters not protesting or doing enough to make things difficult for Lowe and Wilde.

We accept all the sh!te thrown at us and turn the other cheek.

Its time to wake up people, and show the Board that you have had enough...Or stop complaining, the solution is in our own hands...make things difficult for the useless incumberents including Jan and the players, who should be ashamed of the effort that they put in infront of a full house. Yesterday showed that we have a very average bunch of young players ,who, collectively are going no where except down a division

so..are you saying of it was not for the ref we might have tried harder..?

Come off it, an hour with 10 men and poor refereeing decisions from a referee who has given Utd a penalty every two games and sent an opponent off every four games, leading to two goals out of three.

A Utd side with 9 current full internationals, plus Rooney. Give a bit of credit where it's due. They did their best against a top class team.

TBF I think the situation really took the spirit out of the team, 1-0 down and staring at another 65 minutes with just 10 men against Manchester United would have been a big off-putting.

I think also that the style of football needs 11 men and lots of movement and Manchester United had so much space once Patterson was off.

Maybe I'm just being kind but I thought the effort was ok considering the circumstances. We shall see against Barnsley...
