Klarer looks a very good prospect. The big Austrian central defender only just turned 18 in June but he is already one of the stars of Saints U23 team so far this season and gave a really dominant display in the Premier League International Cup win v Dinamo Zagreb. It's early days yet but I think he's going to make it all the way to the first team.

Sunderland want him. I guess it won't be long before the big six clubs are after him. He is our best young player.and probably already the most talented central defender we've got.

Isn't that one of those The player Sunderland MUST sign is... articles?

Regardless, he does look a prospect & one of the beneficiaries of Jones going to Scotland.

Yes, I re-read it. You are right. It just seems to be the opnion of that writer but, as you say, he is a prospect and already attracting attention. He's one of those players who is so good you can't fail to be impressed whenever you see him play.

He seems to be in the pre-season squad so I wonder if he will make a first team appearance in any of the friendly games? Although he's very young he could be part of the solution to our central defensive problem.

Funny reading some of the above, especially after going to the Hampshire Cup Semi-Final against v Basingstoke Town at the Camrose. I wondered what all the fuss was about as he looked uncomfortable against a team of part timers.

Well, at least he's made it all the way to Birmingham City's first team.

Credit to him for getting a decent move & Birmingham IS a decent move.

I see he's captain of Birmingham against Ipswich tonight. He was in the League One Team of the Year last season.

He scored against Pompey today. How we could do with a centre half and captain like him.

Alfie Jones another one we got rid of currently second with Boro. Them two or the combined £30m we spent on our current superstars

To be fair, they were ditched when we were an Established PL side under Ralph, they wanted to leave for game time and that was that. Should we have loaned them out? Maybe, yes - but it just goes to show how poor to non-existent our squad planning has been in the last 6-7 years.
