Colinjb Posted Thursday at 10:53 Posted Thursday at 10:53 (edited) Just seen that a bus full of Barton Pevrill College Students has just gone into the river in Bishopstoke. Fingers crossed that the kids on board are ok. If anyone on here is family to them, positive supportive thoughts to you all. Edited Thursday at 11:02 by Colinjb 2

Gloucester Saint Posted Thursday at 15:51 Posted Thursday at 15:51 Driver has said to witnesses that throttle stuck - rare but can happen (see Toyota).
S-Clarke Posted Thursday at 19:43 Posted Thursday at 19:43 Looked shocking, it clearly out of control - so something was off, everyone seems to be saying jammed accelerator. If that is the case, the driver has done well to avoid hitting anything substantial. That could have been so much worse, could have careered head on into other cars if it was at a busier time of day, into buildings or took out pedestrians. That girl on that video - if she was a few mins later to wherever she was off to, she'd have been walking on the stretch it drove over. 1

Yep, he did bloody well to avoid the learner and dump the bus where he did. It could have been much worse than it was.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted Thursday at 20:47 Posted Thursday at 20:47 Beeb coverage of the incident, with details of what the driver had told people. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c2k1gy4w38nt

Yeah looks like incredible job by the driver. 99 times out of a 100 that ends with fatalities
