Gloucester Saint Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Very heavy QPR victory please to stop Spors appointing Tonda Eckert. Hope the Owls get three off us as well. 1

I'm looking forward to the return of Bazunu, Stephens, Manning and Downs to the lineup as the new manager finds his best 11. 2

No, don’t be daft. A couple of defeats and they may look to bring Lego back. Have to give Eckert full support over the next two games. 18 minutes ago, sockeye said: I'm looking forward to the return of Bazunu, Stephens, Manning and Downs to the lineup as the new manager finds his best 11. Although then again support for the new manager might not even make it to kick off … 1

Sad was playing them the Saturday after their bright young striker Ray Jones was killed in a car accident that week. Won 3-0 but very subdued understandably by everyone. Good point. Was the 3-0 win the final game Theo Walcott played for us? If so I was at that. If you are Tonda Eckhart what would you do? I'd go 4-1-4-1 with, Fellowes, Scienza, Azaz, Arma ahead of Downes [who can be told to work harder] and Downs up front who can be told he'll get crosses and passes fired at him all game. If he can't put 3 shots on target at least then he's off the the U21s for the season. Am I mad?

It's how our U21s play but our U21s always play however the first team play, as is common at an awful lot of clubs, with the logic being that it's easier to then integrate the young guys into first team training and help their understanding of match roles

I know I slagged off the u23s manager for playing it, but the last 3 games we lost were to teams playing 3 CBs, it's more about how you play it than the system itself.

I agree, but I think that the players that we have acquired are actually more suitable for 4-2-3-1, or 4-4-1-1 than 3 at the back.
