Have to disagree archer is probably a better  finisher then AA . He only really played in a underperforming mess of a side under will still

I think the biggest problem for archer has been he’s only really played much in systems which probably suited a big centre forward more .. under ekhart you would think he could step up as he has pretty similar game  to Armstrong

Had the dubious pleasure of watching his positional intelligence and attributes from the Northam this season. When he came on against WBA he was so far behind the play with zero composure it was genuinely pitiful. Doesn’t look like a footballer at this level to me. It might be that we have to get a loan in January to offer more threat and cover for Armstrong.

You're actually wrong. Most of his goals were very good finishes. Must admit he looks a different player to the one Boro had. Maybe he's just lacking confidence or some players just don't work out at certain teams.

Fair enough - but for some reason he’s clearly just not working for Saints and for his sake it’s time to move on.

What’s Che Adams up to these days? The ball just doesn’t stick up top when we’re under pressure, and the less said about our back 5/6 the better.

Bazunu, Stephens, Manning, Fraser all absolutely miles off being good enough for a promotion push

If we are being smart, this question is actually asking improving which position will result in us gaining more points. That’s simply what it boils down to.

I know I sound like a stuck record but I think even Bazunu’s supporters can admit his position is the glaringly obvious answer. I would conservatively estimate him not being in goal all season would result in us being 15-20 points better of.

Whilst I do think we need another striker who is tall and can hold up the ball and some more quality on the bench, a new keeper is absolutely crucial this window. Who gives a shit if we have 4 keepers for half a season. The Bayern Munich guy looks like another bridesmaid though. It’s not hard to scout and sign a keeper playing week in week out in Europe. We can pay more salary than most leagues in Europe.

If we are serious about building a good side we simply must be ruthless and sort out our defensive frailties. That means replacing pretty much all of them bar for THB as we concede far too many goals from mistakes. It's major surgery but must be tackled because the likes of Stephens, Wood, Edwards, Manning, Wellington, Mads and our goalkeepers are simply not good enough (jury is still out on Quarshie). We can't do it all at once so the obvious place to start is by bringing in a competent goalkeeper. Just by doing that I'm convinced it will improve the performances of the defence because it must be hard playing in front of Bazunu. Let's get a centre half to partner THB, two good full backs and start playing with a back four. Easier said than done I know but it needs a rebuild.
