Toadhall Saint Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Well I thought we had truly screwed that up - step forward an 18 year old and a big hitter - well done both! 1
Picard Posted July 12 Posted July 12 So Wednesday vs Essex who are in form at the moment. I wonder if there's any other sporting fixture that evening?

I wonder if that's been pegged for a while just in case, or if the games were brought forward after we beat Norway. 1

Window Cleaner Posted Wednesday at 10:34 Author Posted Wednesday at 10:34 Dawson named in the 13. Neal and Orr probably the players not to make the 11. 2

Hey, I had one of those, well my employer did anyway, flame orange it was. Got it from Percy Hendy's in Chandlers Ford if I remember.

Lighthouse Posted Wednesday at 16:36 Posted Wednesday at 16:36 Vincey has finally unpacked his golf clubs by the look of it. 1
Window Cleaner Posted Wednesday at 16:48 Author Posted Wednesday at 16:48 (edited) Good score, aided and abetted by some very poor cricket from Essex. Awful bowling choices and two dropped catches. Edited Wednesday at 16:49 by Window Cleaner 1
Gloucester Saint Posted Wednesday at 17:09 Posted Wednesday at 17:09 The dangerous Paul Walter gone c and b Baker
Dark Munster Posted Wednesday at 18:24 Posted Wednesday at 18:24 Evening Major. Now on to the football match ....
Lighthouse Posted Wednesday at 18:41 Posted Wednesday at 18:41 Notts in the semi it is then. Surrey probably should have chased that total down but they didn’t, I’d say I’m slightly happier with that. On the other side, Somerset somehow chase down 162, having been 82-8 against Yorks. Overton came in and hit 79 off 30.

Can’t make the women’s tomorrow either! Still there’s always sky. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted Thursday at 06:54 Posted Thursday at 06:54 Oh and noticed Chris Lynn retired hurt for the Steelbacks yesterday. Hope he makes the game on Sat to put Somerset to the sword. 1

We went into a pub in Dulverton the year after the Rose Bowl and I was wearing my Hampshire shirt and cap. 🧢 It started off as banter but got quite unpleasant during the course of being in there which was needless. Fair to say that if Hants don’t win then I really don’t want Somerset to!

Fair to say that if Hants don’t win then I really don’t want Somerset to! Yeah I don’t get their beef with everyone - it’s a bit like small man syndrome. I suppose if all you have is a single sporting area then you get a bit more passionate about that single thing whereas most counties have other sporting avenues. The way they were going in about Overtons knock ( good as it was) was a bit weird - apparently he should be Ben Stokes’s replacement - I mean HC’s innings against Sussex was comparable. 1

We've played Daws and Crane in the same team many times in past campaigns. 2

Window Cleaner Posted yesterday at 13:47 Author Posted yesterday at 13:47 Bugger ! Albert gone second ball.
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 13:54 Posted yesterday at 13:54 Not the best start but early days.

Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 14:14 Posted yesterday at 14:14 Weatherley much happier in white ball, motoring now. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted yesterday at 14:15 Posted yesterday at 14:15 Decent power play in the end - set up nicely now. Weatherly the aggressor 1
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 14:20 Posted yesterday at 14:20 Need to use their feet to Howell and hit him over the top.
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 14:29 Posted yesterday at 14:29 Love the keeper’s optimism on the first - ‘catch it’, in the 6th row of the Hollies maybe. But a chance later on that side, albeit tricky off Vince. Weatherley 50 - well played. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted yesterday at 14:35 Posted yesterday at 14:35 Last time Vince got dropped he went on to score 125 - just saying. 1
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 14:37 Posted yesterday at 14:37 Weatherley different player in white ball, but there was some movement early 9n to contend with against Amir and he coped. Majes you wonder how he’s struggled in red ball. 1

Window Cleaner Posted yesterday at 14:39 Author Posted yesterday at 14:39 You have to wonder what exactly was the reasoning of asking us to bat first. Weak bowling getting slammed . 1

Hard to know how Pennington got into the Test squad last year, 5-6 mph short of any penetration and doesn’t move it much in the air or off the pitch. Their two spinners Linde and Howell (who we know well) are cannon fodder. Edited yesterday at 14:54 by Gloucester Saint
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 14:56 Posted yesterday at 14:56 Bollocks, Stubbs lame scoop and out. Cartwright next.
