Or did he just stay in the VIP area away from the riffraff? Yeah the PL guy was in the VIP bogs, banging up lines with Pep and laughing about how Man City still haven't been found guilty of anything and offering to change the rules for the Carabao Cup so Guehi can play in the final Edited Friday at 14:05 by Midfield_General 1

A geriatric Ryan Bertrand whose legs had gone, and £15m for the BP shipping fleet's Jannik Vestergaard. Then they tonk us 5-0 and 4-1 in the same season and decide that one of the stalwarts of that side, strollin' Joe Aribo, now another two years older and three stone heavier, is just the man to inject the fight and passion they'll need for the scrap to stay away from the relegation zone, and offer to take his wages and Gregg's bill off our payroll for the rest of the season. Not only that, but if rumours are to be believed they have also put the man who masterminded those two defeats, Russell 'Call Me Russ' Martin, at the top of their wish list to be their new manager. Then, just for the lols, they put Ralph the 9-0 guy on there as a fallback as well. So, Leicester City, we thank you 🙏. In our darkest days you never fail to bring joy and laughter, and your board increasingly make the clown show running our club look like the pinnacle of strategic excellence. Now, would you like to buy a goalkeeper and a left back? They're both Irish internationals, you'll love them. Time to update this post @Midfield_General 2
Midfield_General Posted yesterday at 13:20 Author Posted yesterday at 13:20 (edited) Dear Leicester City, Look, I get that you probably felt bad for us and wanted to make amends after the 9-0, the 5-0, the 4-1 and the 97th minute 3-2 - and that's kind of you, it really is. But as compensation goes, you'd already done plenty. You'd taken Bertrand. You'd taken Vestergaard. You'd considered appointing Russell Martin. We could have just called it quits at Joe Aribo. That would have been more than enough. But letting us win from 3-0 down for the first time ever in 141 years? On your own patch? Letting Ryan Manning have one? Bringing on Jordan Ayew? It's just too much. So I don't want you to think we're not grateful, but that's enough now. It's becoming overwhelming, and, to be honest, a bit creepy. Look, we like you. Just not... like 'that'. So you can stop now. We'll still see you this Saturday, OK? But just as friends. I hope you understand. Edited 23 hours ago by Midfield_General 4 14
spyinthesky Posted yesterday at 13:52 Posted yesterday at 13:52 I am a bit conflicted. First of all I am a bit jealous of Leicester's great success in winning the Premier League as a middle ranking Premiership club, very similar to our recent standing in recent times. We also share a very similar stadium design although, I guess plans to increase capacity at the King Power are currently on hold. On the reverse side, the 0-9 home thrashing remains embedded in my brain as does the FA Cup Semi Final defeat. All that said, I do have a degree of sympathy for Leicester in their current situation and whilst extremely happy about last nights result, I have experienced similar despair as a Saints fan. Not sure how many Leicester fans will make the journey to the sparsely attended St Marys on Saturday but as fans, I hope we can empathise with their position rather than take the piss. I guess most/all of the Leicester fans who do turn up will be 'proper' supporters used to the ups and downs of the game and not 'hangers on' like a fair proportion of fans of the so called 'Top Six' clubs.

You know at 3-0 last night they were singing 'We want nine' and 'It's happened again', right? Do you think when the ninth flew in at St Mary's they were sat there politely, stoically wishing us well? No, they were dancing about and pointing and laughing and singing and ripping the piss out of us as they absolutely should be doing. Going to the football is all about taking the piss. Dish it out when you can, and sit and suck it up when you have to. That's basically the point of a football crowd and what makes it fun. It's not the opera. How much crap have we taken from opposing fans over the car crash of the last few years? Finally, we get the chance to dish a bit out. Let's make the most of it for a few days, because it won't last and it doesn't happen very often when you support a club like ours, especially when it's in the state it's in at the minute. Saint86 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Listening to that, they are in huge trouble - regardless of whether they stay up. 8min on just discusses the training ground costs and wage/PSR/TV money side of things. On the 14min mark, it discusses wage budgets and how Leicester were essentially unfairly doping theirs vs the competition. Apparently Leicester's player wage bill was £107M, Leeds were £84M, Saints were circa £100M. This is the season they ultimately won the league and got promoted. So £23M more than Leeds, £27M more than us... and at that time, the average Championship wage bill was £28M 🙄. And obviously they were in breach of PSR but essentially have faced no punishment other than retrospectively being handed a 6point deduction that likely won't make a shred of difference because Oxford and Wednesday are both terrible, and their squad really is too good to take the last spot. BarberSaint Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Seems their run in is a bit tough. They do have to play S Weds and Blackburn though so there's 6 points. Double it and they get 12 which isn't unreasonable. Think it'll be touch and go. Blackburn do look particularly crap though and the two below them are gone, I think. 2

Blackburn are really poor - unfathomable that Saints lost up there and Still deserved the push on that result alone. Another very unpopular and out of touch ownership too. If you’re one of the Champ’s bigger teams struggling, with Weds, Oxford and them, this is the season to be shit. Can’t believe we didn’t beat the skates twice either as they’re dreadful. 2

Agree, I'll forgive losing to Norwich as they look like one of the Championships best sides now, but defeats to Blackburn and Oxford were shocking. We should beat the Skates comfortably when you compare players but being a derby does seem to level things up.

They play each other for the last game of the season i believe - could be a relegation dogfight between two former prem winners.

Must be nearly 2 decades!?!? They've done nothing in that time, from a 90s Premier League (or Premiership then) stable, to, well, bumbling around in division 2 and 3.

Survival now depends on who they bring in to manage them, there was talk of Gary Rowett going there.

Rowett looked like a shoo-in, and seemed to be the one a lot of the fans wanted, but has made comments in the last few days that sounded like him distancing himself from it and he's now looking less likely. He's still well in the mix with the bookies, but Hasenhuttl is currently the favourite, and Sean Dyche came in with a bullet at third favourite after getting the, er, bullet from Forest last night, although most of their fans seem to think there's not a cat in hell's chance of him dropping down to that level, at a sinking ship with no money. Rusty still just about hanging in there at 12/1. I still think it could be him after a few more turn them down. When even Norwich didn't approach him, he must have realised his options are increasingly limited and they might be the best he can do, even in their current mess.
