spyinthesky Posted Thursday at 11:07 Posted Thursday at 11:07 Up until recently, we were the only club, as far as I am aware, who used the tune as their main song to support the team. Spurs then latched onto it and slowed down the delivery, which we followed, to replace their 'Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur ditty. It now seems that many teams have now latched onto the song, as Boro did on Tuesday, with quite a few Spurs fans thinking it is 'Their' song!! Perhaps we should complain to the EFL about copyright infringement to negate the 'Spygate' nonsense?? 1
Disco Stu Posted Thursday at 21:45 Posted Thursday at 21:45 (edited) I wish we sang the fast version like we used to. A couple of renditions of the slow version and then it peters out with clapping at 300 BPM. Edited Thursday at 21:48 by Disco Stu 4
Zorba Posted Friday at 00:18 Posted Friday at 00:18 It should be our YNWA but it’s over used and gets boring very quickly, just like that shit pompey song. We haven’t had much to sing about lately but our repertoire of songs is very limited and generally pretty awful.

North London yobboes.

Was great when we used to sing the fast version for a long period at away games. We did have a 15 minute run of it at Swansea but only about 30-50 people did it constantly with others coming in and out. The slow version is a dirge and should only be sung a couple of times a game. 1
EssEffCee Posted Sunday at 08:03 Posted Sunday at 08:03 As for other clubs singing it while it does feel like more do than they used to there are other clubs who've sung it for years. Liverpool and Stoke are 2 which come to mind. Never recall Spurs singing it before our 2005 relegation.
Shufty Zubrik Posted Sunday at 08:10 Posted Sunday at 08:10 For a big stadium like Wembley it has to be slow to resonate. The fast version, albeit fun, won’t trouble the microphones. 1

I don't particularly like the "started in a chapel", as for me it's a liverpool song, but atleast it's sung at the right tempo. The recent Shea Charles song thats been sung this season, is waayyyyyy too fast and just ends up dying. Bring back a good half hour OWTS, used to love that. 2

Even the "started in a chapel" song inexplicably speeds up when you get to "we sing this song for you".
EssEffCee Posted yesterday at 11:22 Posted yesterday at 11:22 Speaking of tempo and clapping, since when exactly did 'stand up if you love the Saints' need to be accompany by coked up knobheads clapping at a million miles an hour? Just means it doesn't last long enough to spread round the ground. 3
BarberSaint Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago About time we changed the words: Oh when the spies, Come sneaking in Oh when the spies Watch you from the road I want to be on t'internet Making dodgy claims Oh when the spies Are in your back yard/golf course* *Edit as you see fit.
TheAlehouseBrawlers Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Bit concerning really that as we're playing in our home kit this weekend it's halved our repertoire that everyone joins in with and the prospect of 90mins of just OWTS ain't appealing. Bit tongue-in-cheek but need some new ones "Eye Spy Wherever you may be Tonda got us to Wem-b-ley And we don’t give a fuck The Death Stare it will be Tonda got us to Wem-b-ley"

I saw us play at WHL in that relegation season and it was on the programme songsheet (l couldn't believe they had one!). Guess the lyrics are a bit challenging...
Terence Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago How about: Oh I’d rather be a Scummer than a Smog Id rather be a Scummer than a Smog Id rather be a Scummer Rather be a Scummer I’d rather be a Scummer than a Smog OR Oh I’d rather be a Scummer than a Spy Id rather be a Scummer than a Spy Id rather be a Scummer Rather be a Scummer Id rather be a Scummer Than a Spy! COYFS!
