How'd you like an owner worth £2.1bn

I'm led to believe that the following is one of those looking at the club.

Charlene De Carvalho

£2.10bn Daughter of the late Heineken owner

The door to the chief executive's office at the brewing empire weighs a ton. It is because Dutch beer baron Alfred 'Freddy' Heineken had the executive suite bullet-proofed after his three-week kidnapping ordeal in 1983. His only child, Charlene de Carvalho, was also the victim of a scare in 1996. Charlene, 49, inherited a 25 per cent stake in the business when Freddy died in 2002, but leaves the day-to-day running to management. Increasing competition has hit shares and her stake is down to £2 billion. The mother of five lives in London with investment banker husband Michel de Carvalho, a former British Olympic skier and child actor who appeared in the film Lawrence of Arabia. With dividends and other wealth Charlene is worth £2.10 billion.

Think she was mentioned on another thread yesterday....on there it was said she lived in or around Winchester and Everton had approached her previously...

Perhaps we could have Heineken on the shirts instead of FlyBe next year - at least the beer would improve at St Marys....

I think he's more of a 'Grouse' kinda guy.

Had to laugh, the Scots are really starting to lay into him lately.....especially after the rumours on 606 are that he allowed Ferguson and McGregor to start drinking at 2am in the team hotel...only for them to still be drinking at noon...

Hmmm.. pre-season reminders for anyone???

Don't think he'll be there much longer - good bit of business that.

I thought it was Burley who was buying the rounds. I thought it was shocking for Burley to have the nerve to suspend players for drinking. Pot, kettle and black spring to mind.

The green shirt is horrid imho, so is the beer. Oh and Delia didn't actually 'own' Norwich as far as I know.

Jamie Oliver told me personally that Delia not only put 11 million into the club..Her catering is better than St Marys as well....Mind you she has no money left now....If they go down she has had her chips.:D

I hope Mr Fry is looking for the best deal for Southampton FC rather than the best deal for the bank in the short term... that's my only concern.

yeah, it does raise a question! What criterior is Mr Fry is looking for?

This is probably the most vital event in our entire history, one that is going to define our foreseeable future!!!

Will Mr Fry be making a decision that is the best available to club or his company!! How does it work????

He is looking to get the best possible result for the lenders. Ideally he wants to sell the business as a going concern. If he cannot he will sell whatever assets he has to the highhest bidder to pay back the lenders as much as possible.

Of course, we do have an advantage in that a football stadium, while worth a great deal on paper, is actually worth very little unless you bulldoze and build on the land.

And who would buy property on the burial ground of a 124 year old football club...

no housing allowed on the site for summit like 100years.

all to do with the contamination from being a gas works site
