Perry is a good player but his lack of height and his lack of pace are beginning to get found out. Remember Lucketti? we'll be seeing him again at Huddersfield next season. He wouldn't be used to getting roughed up,refs here in the younger categories are very quick with the red cards for anything resembling dangerous or over aggressive play.Lads like Schneiderlin need 20/30 minute run outs to get up to the pace of the CCC (or English game) So many hot young French have failed miserably in England and then gone on to do great things elsewhere.Wenger knows this and his lads are nurtured till they're ready. Benj540 Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 (edited) ----------Davis James Saeijs Perry Skacel ---------Gobern Thomson----------Smith --------McGoldrick --Saganowski--BWP Subs: Liptak, Euell, Patterson, Lallana, Holmes/Surman Gobern - surly he can offer more than Wotton does. Give BWP a chance upfront he will run at the defence and has a good shot on him. Edited 12 April, 2009 by Benj540
RedArmy Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Wotton, Smith and Surman should be nowhere near the first XI, more than likely all 3 will be.
derry Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 I have been very severe on Schneiderlin on the kitchen sink thread but in the context this is a 'in the trenches win at all costs game'. Small wonder this technically accomplished player is unhappy. This bloody diamond he is asked to play in, is a nonsense. He needs wide players out on the lines, the front men coming off their markers and real movement from the other players. At the moment the pair of midfield players have few options, pass to each other, pass it back or lump it up to the centrebacks. He probably feels that we are a basket case and we are. What do I think the team will be. -------------------------Davis ---------James-----Saeijs-------Perry------Skacel --------------Smith----Wotton----Surman ----------------------McGoldrick ----------------Saganowski------Euell Subs: Forecast, Liptak, Lallana, Schneiderlin, BWP. derry Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 At least Smith actually tries to take people on. Very true, but beating the same player once would be enough for me, but three times while the defence tightens up doesn't work. Play the boy on the correct side. See if he can get to the line. Wotte has this obsession with players coming inside onto their good foot and shooting, only they don't shoot.

Can we please at least make things fairly interesting and change things around a bit. It's maddening knowing he's going to put out the same sh*te again in midfield. Here's what's really going to happen. Wotte sticks with pretty much the same team that lost to Wolves, except he will maybe drop Saga and put Euell in. He will remain blissfully unaware of how ineffective the midfield is as Davis spends 90 minutes hoofing it up to 5'8" BWP and expecting him to out-jump some brick sh*thouse centre half. We lose and everyone is on here moaning about how it's the strikers fault for not scoring, the defenders fault we conceded 3 and Skacel's fault for waving at the fans. Rant over. Hopkins Posted 13 April, 2009 Share Posted 13 April, 2009 Its the team I said above. No idea what people's fascination is with playing Skacel in attacking midfield. He's a left winger if anything not an in behind the strikers player and dropping McGoldrick who's been our best player for a while now for Skacel who's declared he doesn't want to play for us and has been ****e when he has is an absurd idea. The team were playing tomorrow as above is pretty much the best were going to get. Its probably our most effective for our direct style of play now and as the person who told me the team "its all about character tomorrow"

Davis Lloyd Perry JPS Rudi Wotton Lallana McGoldrick Surman Euell and Saga That'll be Charlton all over again then? Have we ever kept a clean sheet with Wotton at holding mid? What's not to get that the 'diamond' doesn't work with these players? Lallana will be shy7e in a free role on the RM and will leave LJ horribly exposed. Palace will score 2, Saints will score something between 0 and 3!
Summers Posted 13 April, 2009 Share Posted 13 April, 2009 -----------------------Davis--------------------- James------------ Perry-----Saeijs -------------Skacel ----------------------Wotton------------------------- Lallana------------------------------------------ Surman ----------------------McGoldrick---------------------- ----------------Euell----------Saganowski------------- Subs Forecast Liptak Schneiderlin Paterson Holmes/Smith Wotte's gotta go for a fairly impromptu sh*t or bust scenario. Big men up at every corner, Defensively sound. The only change i'd be tempted to make is chucking Skacel at LM and playing drew at LB because i recdkon he's more defensively minded whereas Skacel will be chomping at the bit of given a LM run-out. What we need to do, which I saw happen so bloody well against Preston at home, is getting the ball on the floor, and using the wings and especially the Right and Left backs swinging a few balls in. Lallana, Surman, Skacel and James are more than bloody capable of doing it, and lets face it. We can bloody pummel Palace if we hit the ground running, they won't know whats hit them. They have nothing to play for apart from hopefully putting on a good performance for their travelling fans, All it will take tomorrow is us getting the first goal and then we're up and running. I can see this team winning, and winning pretty well, should they start well ande keep up a high tempo, and not letting Palace settle into their stride. Prediction - Saints 2 - 1 Palace Saganowski and Euell scoring to install some belief into themselves and Saints' relegation struggle. COME ON YOU MOTHERF*CKING SAINTS! BWP or Ryan Smith should start as right midfield. Most of the Saints fans are crying for Skacel to start as a left midfield.
thorpie the sinner Posted 13 April, 2009 Share Posted 13 April, 2009 Whatever team he puts out, they have to have the will to win, thats the only thing that will save us today! We patently aren't good enough hence our position, but good old fashioned determination and never say die attitude counts for a lot!!
