We are currently organising a charity day at Goodies fish and chip shops in Totton, Chandlers Ford and Romsey. All takings (not just profits) from the day will be donated to SFC to help with the current financial difficulties. The day will kick off at 11.30am until close at approx 9.30pm. There will be an auction/raffle in the Totton shop of football memorabilia which we are currently collecting and would gladly take more if people have anything they would like to donate. The event will be covered by the Daily Echo and will also be menioned before Saturdays home game. We are hoping to get a player to turn up for photos/autographs but this is TBC.

Please come along have your fish and chips at a reduced rate and support the club.

Matt

You haven't mentioned the date in this bit Matt. I know it's in the OP but some people might not go to the OP. Since you have limited posts, I'll do it for you :)

It's SUNDAY 26 APRIL folks.

Tanya's is good but the one in Salisbury Road precinct is as good and delivers free, if you're a greedy bugger and spend enough. Does a great crispy seawed, Tanya doesn't.

No Tanya doesnt do the aromatic duck either.Good take away though Derry, we are one of her longest loyal customers she wraps our order up so it is still hot when we get back to Salisbury after a game.

I've been going there since they opened, although we are using the other one quite a bit because they deliver in about twenty minutes.

At the risk of being pedantic, SFC are not a charity. They are a club that has not been run too cleverly. All credit to the organisers but to some this is akin to raising money for the RBS.

Don't get me wrong, its a good idea but isn't 'charity' about supporting local orgnaisations who by their charitable status rely on donations to keep going. The Rainbow Centre, Rose Road and Naomi House for example?

I agree but these are exceptional circumstances.

I know there is a lot going on at the minute but please do not forget this is taking place this Sunday. If you are going to the testimonial match at Eastleigh why not pop in to the Chandlers Ford shop. All takings on the day go to SFC so the more we sell the more money SFC get.

See you all Sunday.

Well done to everyone that attended, donated and bought raffle tickets. Looks like we raised between £7k and £8k. A great effort, and hard work for those involved! Not bad for 8 hours in a giant dog suit.

Well done, probably more than the bucket collection at SMS, HOPE YOUR BUSINESS costs were not to high

Very good, fair play to Goodies and all the people that helped out with it. When I was visiting for lunch, Super Saint was on the main road and people were actually stopping and putting money in the bucket but not having any food. Well done chaps.

Also the signed football I won at the raffle has been nicked by my nipper who has decided to kick it round the garden!! Coulodnt read the signatures anyway!!

I called in at Totton but you were dropping somebody off. How many sweets in the jar? I didn't have a clue.

Just been informed I have won a signed Saints ball from the auction - as well as having cheap fish and chips - happy days :-)

Si, i point you to my post on the forum match...and would highlight h.) Does eating large portions of fish and chips fall into that category? If you carry on like that you will be in the Saints first team

(quote)now Im confirmed as the away team manager I expect full respect from the team, none of the 'you old git, you don't know what you are on about' stuff . I will be bringing along my medals to show you to gain your respect......well medal, Shirley School under11's player of the first half award.

I expect all my team to be keeping to a.) 9 pm curfew ,b.)no drinking,c.) no womanising, d.)no MasterBatesing, e.)a 5 mile run every night, f.)practising passing dribbling g.)shooting skills (not as in c.) or d.) ), h.)and a strict careful eating regime.

If not, I'll be pulling you off at half time, to some that might mean a bonus but being pulled off when my hands are made of sandpaper is not recommended unless you are Pinochio of course.Leave the excesses to Dubai Phils team.

Come on you greys/flints
