Ok, i don't post much but lurk and read, and have followed all the downs and downs of the last few seasons with growing depression and fear, and feel today SFC as we have known it has finally sadly passed away....

So, like at all good funerals, lets have a post match rememberance of the good old days..Lets have some happy anecdotes, moments that make you smile, moments you will never forget as a Saints fan. Something to cheer us in this darkest moment. They can be anything, big or small... I'll start for what its worth...In no particular order....

The 5th goal going in in the Norwich game...I was at uni and listening on the radio resigned to a point..could not believe it...

Coming out of Dellhurst heading back to the train.. the day was superb and the atmosphere electric

A sea of yellow at Cardiff.....Having a **** next to Peter Rodrigues at half time, and him talking to my old man on the phone about 76 whilst doing it !!!

Terry Curran scoring at the Dell in 79!!

Ivan Golac scoring v West Brom I think... Fantastic unstopable shot....

I could go on but will leave to whoever wants to continue...

Southampton FC Till I Die... just hope Southampton FC does not die before me....

Yeh, ok maybe i am being melodramatic, but the point of the thread was just to think back to happier times.

This club has been slowly suffocating over the last three years and maybe death is a strong word, but this club will have new owners (if the come forward) and be run very differently from the club we had back in the prem.... Its not going to be the same entity we have known.. That could be good or bad, i don't know.. for me the club I remember as SFC will be those days at the dell, I think whatever happens now will further break the ties this club had to that age for me.. Maybe I am just getting tired of everything that has happened over the last few years.. I so want us to come out of this like the pheonix from the flames, bounce back and show the world what we are.. I just hope we can do it. I hope remembering the good times will ake sure that happens maybe..dunno.. i'll shut up and go back to lurking...Its what I do best....

No don't worry mate. I got the sentiment of the whole looking back to the good times, but just disagreed with the whole wake/death thing.

Now at least we've got some decent promotion seasons to look forward to. God one of my all time favorite games was Luton away in 77-78 promotion season (think that's right i"m getting too old!) I was a 15 year old up for everything. 10K Saints fans all over their ground, then Orient away where another 10K plus Saints turned up mid week, I nearly got crushed by the wall collapsing that night, happy memories alright, and there'll be more for the young'uns to enjoy.

Get over yourself - pull together - brighter times on the way. We knew this would be tough - very tough, but it will be worth it in the end. SFC will live-on and go on to bigger and better things - we had to take a step back to take two forward. Now it the time when true Saints will stand together and sing the club back to the Prem.
