item published recently on OS pointing out that both Michael Poke AND

Ian Turner (1976) both kept a clean sheet in a Wembley final.

However, in the strictest sense of the word, there is another.

In the 2002 Cup Final, Antti Niemi was goalie from the start and between the posts when Arsenal scored their goal. Niemi later suffered a pulled muscle in his leg and was subbed for the rest of the game by ..Paul Jones...who kept a clean sheet. So in fact the list is THREE...not two.

ALSO leads into the now legendary pub quiz question ;

Which goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in an FA Cup Final, but only got a losers medal ? Answer: Paul Jones !

Um, and whoever the Man U keeper was when they lost on pens to Arsenal in the 0-0 a couple of seasons later... Roy Carroll :

You could also add the keepers on the eventually losing side in 1886, 1911 and 1912 too, when the FA Cup Final was a 0-0 draw and required a Replay, if you were going to be superpedantic (like wot I iz sometimes). That was West Brom, Newcastle and West Brom again respectively. Ha, that's sucked all the fun out of THAT.

Answer and link, and then pedantry.

It's already been pointed out that the final wasn't at Wembley

However, your legendary pub quiz question is wrong anyway

1990 - Man Utd drew 3-3 with Crystal Palace with Jim Leighton in goal

He was replaced by Les Sealey for the replay & won 1-0

Don't worry, I've just got back from a lunchtime session & talking rubbish mate

Um, that doesn't include anyone keeping a clean sheet and getting a loser's medal. Is that what the last sentence is about ? If so, why post it at all ?

Hell, this just got confusing.
