It is what would satisfy you though isn’t it? Because he played an hour or so in a ridiculously defensive set up against Man City just 2 weeks ago were he, and everyone else, was asked to play a disciplined game in which they could barely press beyond the half way line and yet you’re out here questioning his attitude. Well I’m not sure where you were sitting but he started our fourth game of the season from my seat after 3 sub appearances before that. But yeah, reluctant ffs 🤣
-
He’s young and doesn’t run around like Brett Ormerod or drag us out of relegation like MLT so it must be an attitude problem. Bore off. The lad went from being an unknown kid with a manager who he described as a 2nd dad building a team to accentuate his best traits to being asked to play under 2 different managers with 2 different systems neither of which suited him or probably anything he done in previous youth teams. He’s not going to run around like a headless chicken ever in his career and nor should he just to appease some deluded crowd members who want to pick on the kid from the academy again.

The Championship is a league that last time we were in it a) he didn’t want to be there and b) the manager who got us promoted that season didn’t seem at all arsed about it. There’s nothing like a handful who barely moves, barely jumps, barely holds up the ball and has barely looked threatening unless it’s put on a plate for him. He’s not very good and we won’t be playing in a way that suits him. Thankfully.

I don’t think any of Lens strikers are particularly tall. Seems to favour much more mobile strikers who can press heavy and react quickly to high turnovers and quick crosses rather than the old school aim for the big man type crosses. Onuachu nowhere near mobile enough for that and is incredibly out of his depth in this league on almost all fronts as evidence by his performances over 1.5 seasons now.

He’s not just a multi-millionaire business man though is he? Honestly, I kind of understand why people are thick enough to see the obvious red flags but decide ‘lol loads of money is great and social media tells me it’s great so it must be so we will beat everyone haha’ but to just be completely oblivious to them and think he’s just a business man is thick beyond belief.

Follow some independent and good journalists in boxing rather than bots/accounts funded by this guy. Fella.
-
Yeah I’d probably read up on his character and then think again if I were you. Step away from the sports washing content and then make a judgement.
-
Okay Charlie. You keep convincing yourself of that whilst watching the fights in empty drab stadiums in Saudi and being told by social media bots how great it is whilst the rest of the world goes about their daily business without caring about this man.

Nobody real actually thinks he’s changed boxing completely ffs 🤣

‘I mentioned last week about a twist’ 🤣 Wonderfully blase.

Will Still will be his 6th manager here. All with different styles and all have given him game time. The only manager out of those who was successful decided in the end he shouldn’t be in the team. But yeh, blame the managers, blame his team mates, blame tactics blah blah blah. If Still gets figures out of him nobody else has then wonderful but cutting him slack in one thread and piling onto a boyhood Saints fan who has helped deliver big moments for the club in that time will always be insane to me. Thats not even getting into the Balogun comparison ffs 🤣🤣🤣
-
There are threads on here bumped solely to slag off certain individuals who had a big hand in our only successful recent season because of some bad performances off the bench yet Sulemana for example gets the classic ‘mismanaged and any day now he’ll be great’ treatment in his 3rd ineffective season. Incredible place this.

What don't they know?
-
Think this is a much better insight into him rather than conversations with nauseating podcast hosts and/or awkward youtubers reading from a script they've stolen from said podcasts.
-
Quite a few league titles between those two btw. Feels like a pretty solid reason why you’d want to play your way.

What Martin liked about Stephens here is nothing he can give to Leicester. A love and passion for the club is what he referenced about Stephens here. Again, give up that straw.
-
I actually don’t think it’s that so much. I’ve no idea how he’ll fit but I don’t think you push out a captain if you’re a new manager unless there is a real cause to do so, and not being quite good enough isn’t that.
-
That’s kind of why I asked who they were talking about. Suppose Ryan Fraser is the only ‘RM fan boy’ we really should be looking to move on. Downes is one of our best players and I’ll be surprised if we look to sell him on and even more surprised if it’s to a rival who have some financial books to sort out and have Harry Winks in their squad already. Rangers maybe if Martin goes there but don’t see that happening tbh. THB will go but don’t have him down as a negative. Manning more than capable of contributing and has even said himself he’s staying.
-
Can’t see Stephens going anywhere this summer and anyone expecting so should probably start preparing for that eventuality now.
-
They were talking about RM fan boys weren’t they? Not sure you’d count any of those as that. Agree all a nightmare to get rid off though but the longer the contracts go down the cheaper they will get so fingers crossed someone takes a punt.

Who are we talking about here?
-
It feels like a good one. Looks like he values players and their personalities which our squad needs and his record of galvanising groups is a good one. The idea that we came away from a manager who had a connection with his players was always daft. Tactically he’s used all the right buzz words in the MNF performance. ‘Adaptable’ being a favourite and playing to the audience and like Spors he seems to favour good physicality so its good to have that joined up thinking again that bought us success in this league last time. Will see how that manifests itself but I hope we don’t neglect the technical side like we did under Ralph by the end. Early impressions of Still are that we won’t. Good stuff all around and looking forward to it. As has been mentioned though, recruitment is key.

Romano 2 years behind everyone else.

Deciding you won’t get into a discussion about football is probably one of the most knowledgeable things you’ve said on the subject to be fair.

Anyone who says they want to watch Onuachu for us ever again needs locking up. Anyone who says we shouldn't sign another striker and they would be happy to watch a season of a combination of that 5 again also needs locking up. On an individual basis I could get behind Archer, Stewart or Armstrong again, barely Diaz but if I had to I would but that being our whole strike force would be insanity. Not because they wouldn't do well necessarily but if Spors is talking about energising the club again, it has to look and feel different next year and the strike force could and should be at the forefront of that.
