  1. Didn’t O’Neil and Solksjaer both start as caretakers? Both have been suggested as candidates for our job. Anyway, all I’m saying is the over reaction on here is silly. If we had a half decent striker ourselves we’d have won quite a few more games and Will Still would be leading a 3 at the back revolution here. We don’t, they didn’t. I’m happy to get into a debate about how relevant managers are and how underlying data should factor into decision making but given some on here refuse to understand XG I think we’re fighting a losing battle and my simple point was, winning felt good and dismissing that seems stupid.
  2. There’s plenty of managers with experience, some in this league now or until the weekend, who would love a couple of wins like we’ve had this week and would lap it up as well. I agree that we’ve not been great, but given we’ve shown quite a lot in the last two games that we hadn’t shown this season already (willingness to defend our box properly and a ruthless streak at the other end) and we’ve played worse teams than QPR and not won this season and we never looked like losing on Saturday either, I think the idea that him carrying on is a ‘job for the boys’ or ‘brain dead’ is a bit of a over reaction. I’m sure we’ll get someone experienced, progress up the league with flowing football whilst playing 4 at the back and everyone will be satisfied though.
  3. Alright, I'll get my ears tested
  4. I've spoke to people in both corners of the ground yesterday and can assure you it wasn't heard by everyone. Both the away fans and Itchen corner think Northam has been quiet this season, and yesterday.
  5. Dont really understand the Eckert hate on here. Suspect he doesn't get the job and he's not my first choice but a manager delivering wins in this league is just getting dismissed again on here for some reason
  6. That's exactly the reason you take a PL job the moment you're offered one. Nothing remarkable about it.
  7. Would be much more interested in Cadamarteri at Sheff Wed. Also noted Pierce Charles was again in a Saints box this weekend, this time with his brother rather than watching him.
  8. Go on.... Also GON was 100% at Sky yesterday.
  9. These chants yesterday...did anyone beyond the half way line hear them?
  10. You wouldn't believe he's made 1 selection and won the game would you
  11. If it is O’Neill then it’ll be interesting to see if it gets soft leaked to the press today/tonight so the club can gauge a reaction tomorrow at the game or whether they keep a lid on it to get through tomorrow and give the fans a two week run up over the break instead. Couple bits of PR and some support in the press from MLT and co should do the trick until the results kick in.
  12. ‘we have an online roulette making us shed loads so lose all the money you want on the other markets’ - lol as you would say.
  13. Do you think the bookies are in anyway connected or aware to the appointment? It’s incredible the amount of people who discuss the odds of these things like it’s some sort of indicator. ‘Poor list to choose from’ being my favourite. The odds list is drawn up by a combination of names people want to bet on and by those the bookies want to entice you into betting on. It’s that simple and if it wasn’t anymore obvious some of them have their own news outlets to stir up the betting action 🤣 It will continue to reflect the best way the betting companies think they can make money off punters. Right until the moment the book closes. And if that means RM being favourite whilst people get annoyed/interested enough to click on their articles and maybe have a punt for or against it, then thats the way it'll remain, until it doesn't.
  14. Weird to see the trouble players starting again, THB, Stephens and Downes. Another manager not realising their bad attitude.
  15. Anyone else think it’s odd that news of Romeu signing was leaked the evening/day after the manager was sacked despite not being ready to sign and definitely not ready to play in his first game since May?
  16. Once again I’m here having to point out to supposedly sensible people that talk of ‘regrouping this season’ is all well and good but will involve not winning quite a lot of our remaining matches so I don’t expect to see posts like ‘this manager has been really disappointing’ when that happens.
  17. Downes was out of 3 matches during that period. He was back into the starting line up within 2 weeks. Juric had every opportunity to not call him back if he didn’t feel it was warranted or his was as big as an issue as you would make out. Juric himself described it as a ‘little’ problem. I think Stephen’s was regularly sighted as one of the few players with any leadership skills at all the year we went up so the idea of him not being central to something he was club captain of feels a bit odd to me. And nobody said anything about ‘nailed on’ so don’t stick it in quote marks or judge things by a narrative you’ve started yourself ffs 🤣 But given you start the game with 11 players and Stephens and THB are in the top 10 players for minutes this season, I’d say once again, they’ve played a big part this season. Then again, facts and context might just be club narrative 🤣
  18. Why would they do that? 🤣 I’ll give you Manning and Stephen’s as shite if you like (there would be takers btw) but there would obviously be takers for THB and Downes if available.
  19. This is just absolute nonsense again. Not only did those 4 get picked pretty regularly under Juric (and since) but Downes was playing with a couple of weeks of the end of January. It’s just weird narrative building that doesn’t really have any basis to it. If these were a problem because they liked RM then one of the 3 managers we’ve had since might have looked to have dropped, sold or called them out by now. And given only Stephen’s doesn’t get into the team, and we can put that down him not being good enough then we can call this theory the utter shite it appears to be I think. These 4 were pretty central to the team being promoted last time and probably wouldn’t mind the club getting to those standards again one day.
  20. I’m probably in the camp of the players being to blame and would prefer we allowed a manager some time to sort that out but these guys people are calling bad apples since Martin have gone…have we considered they just want us to get back to better/higher standards than the slop they’ve worked with since?
  21. Was Lallana knocking back PL teams when we got relegated from the PL? Can we just stop a) judging players based on 3 months. B) Sighting random players who fit narratives and pretending their path to success is the only way for other youngsters to make it? Maybe, just maybe, Tyler wants to play in the PL and I’m going to suggest signing for a PL club might give him a better crack at that than not.
  22. Or the ex pompey player and Bournemouth manager
  23. Make believe except for Carragher stating the messages he was receiving during the broadcast last night. Different fans have different opinions shock.
  24. Jagielka and Cahill were mid 20’s when they signed for Everton. Baines 20/21 maybe? Like I said, not comparable. Rice I’ll give you and at no stage did I say Moyes hasn’t guided any youngster well, what I said was Everton fans are criticising him for his handling of Dibling and other youngsters they have now. I’m sure you know best though.
  25. The Rooney that left as soon as he could? None of Cahill, Jagielka or Baines are comparable either.
