Do people not already think we have this then? We have a couple of proven options already and people are keen to sell them because they aren't good enough.

Not sure City and Mubama will be too chuffed if we start looking to bump him down to 3rd choice tbh. And the whole ‘proven’ thing is very dull. Won’t find many more ‘Proven’ than Archer and Diaz for example.

There’s an interview on YouTube that the Brentford owner did last season in which he discussed this kind of topic. In it he states that Brentford look for strikers who get lots of chances even if they miss them over ones who are clinical with the little efforts they get. That is the skill they look for.

Really important that these are taken away a one hour slot on the radio. Or at the very least it has an extended ‘after hours’ session afterwards. Blackmore very annoying but just a symptom of being confined to the live hour broadcast and trying to get through it without having awkwardness on air. Overblown media campaign sure but it was in lead up to a pretty big game so hardly a shock. Nor was the punishment given teams being kicked out of cup competitions for breaking cup competition rules which is reasonably in line with quite a lot of football up and down the country especially given the time frame involved. I do think people are massively overreacting to this whole thing which is a pretty cut and dry case of breaking rules and being punished for them and now waiting for the individual punishment to be handed out ( which Saints have known about since last week but that pesky Chelsea case is still in the way I assume)

True but if there’s a signing to replace Charles I think I’d be eyeing up elsewhere if I was one of those kids in the CM positions.

I’m not sure luring kids into long contracts as 5th option in positions is a particular good luck for a club that insists there is a pathway.

This whole every other club does it theory is perfectly fine but does actually seem to lack any evidence of it actually happening other than assumptions and hearsay. It also doesn’t disregard the fact that we did it, got caught, admitted it and even have someone at the top saying they didn’t know we couldn’t do it which is a terrible look for more than one reason and goes against any kind of stitch up argument.

Think he was ‘unlucky’ not score a couple last season in fairness. Missed some good chances. Dont think we were worlds away from him scoring a couple and Charles having some speculative efforts flying over the bar. But his best asset going forward is his ability to win the ball back in high places. Starting attacks high up the pitch.

Just a reminder that all of these (bar Downs) have probably been available for sale for at least a year. We’ll recoup that £25 million plus any minute now I’m sure.
