  1. I could probably find the exact same post you made about Nathan Jones for example who I think is currently sitting 6th in our league? Sometimes, people aren't complete shit, or not knowing what they are doing but instead results just aren't going right and time might change that rather than changing manager again.
  2. I would agree and disagree with this in some aspects. Think you’ve made some fair points regarding selections and the amount of changes made but would also argue that if we had finished all of those one on ones yesterday that people could legit argue that would have shown a different tactical plan than overlaps and getting it in the mixer. That’s where he’s let down by the outcome of his finishers. But, this is what happens when managers who pride themselves on results and sell themselves as adaptable and pragmatic, lose matches. They’ve got nothing else to point to because they’ve specifically asked to be judged on nothing else. He’s not done himself any favours when he’s first joined and subtly played to the crowd by dismissing Martins credibility here. And in line with your other thread, I hope people are seeing that actually he did a decent job here, in this league and scoring goals and winning matches isn’t something we should take for granted. I get the frustration at Still but still can’t quite agree that a new manager suddenly gets our attackers to be efficient or our defence to stop doing stupid stuff. I’d like to see us address that properly over some transfer windows first.
  3. Fair point and we absolutely should be better but we’re not the only ones underperforming with good squads for this league. Leicester and Ipswich, one of those with a manager who I assume people would want here, are also underperforming and as usual are slightly better than us. Sheffield United despite bringing backs ‘experienced championship manager’ aren’t much better for it. I can’t agree that a manager is solely responsible for our form right now. Think underperforming players should take the brunt of the fault and a manager should be given more than just one window to solve those issues. At what point do we actually give a manager some time to ride out the bad moments at this club? Or do we just keep sacking them after some bad form each season?
  4. Do I? Pretty sure my post was just an incredibly basic explanation of it for people who didn’t understand it but I’m happy to be pointed in the direction where I’ve concluded that either the right amount of stock or not enough stock has been afforded in it during the post.
  5. Out of interest, what is it about the 4 managers we’ve had this year that makes you think a 5th one is going to suddenly get an improvement?
  6. Yeah so like I said people deliberately choose not to understand XG and an incredibly basic point about it won’t appease those people. Not sure at any point did I try and endorse our team, club or approach in that post. But thanks for replying anyway.
  7. I think you’ve quoted the wrong post or read the wrong words
  8. Is it because for two years now everyone, including Adam and Joe, has been moaning about our defensive woes? Those two are proper plonkers
  9. There are people who deliberately refuse to understand XG so this very basic and small explanation will not appease those but a helpful thing to remember with XG is a penalty is generally considered about 0.75/0.8. So given that’s a one on one, stationary shot, no defenders, keeper on his line etc, then one on ones like we had yesterday would be less than that. Also notice footmob have us at 1.67 XG so different sources have us at different figures.
  10. Yeah I think they expect him back before January though.
  11. I’ll be surprised/disappointed if we’re not making a push for Pierce Charles given he’s been at games recently and we’ll want his brother to stay.
  12. No. I asked for evidence. The idea of someone deliberately playing badly so he's not picked again does seem slightly far fetched though.
  13. That is just pure hyperbole
  14. Sorry but where is the evidence for any of this narrative? Is it really all based on one comment from Juric about Downes, which he rowed back on a couple of weeks or so later on and stuck him back in the team?
  15. Nathan Jones first talked about the squad needing better characters and personality. Probably wasn't far away from saying cunt himself before he was sacked. Every manager since has pretty much talked about the squad lacking leadership when justifying bringing back Stephens. Personally, I'd get Downes back in the side at least until January.
  16. Suspect it’s a dressing room that is used to losing and naturally fractured because of that. And that’s before you even remember that since Ralph gutted the squad of anyone being able to think for themselves that almost every manager since has bemoaned the lack of leadership and personality within the dressing room and ends up having to bring Jack Stephen’s back into the side.
  17. Saying you sympathise with him and also worry who we’d appoint after sacking him is exactly why you wouldn’t sack him surely? No point making a decision like that for the sake of it.
  18. Yes. Appreciate it's not the most popular shout and I understand why because he's looked naff but Archer just had two starts in a row and not overly delivered so why not give Downs that opportunity now? I'm much more keen on seeing Robinson and Azaz start again though. Really think the casual comments of "squad that is comfortably top 2 on paper" only set us up for failure tbh. There's no evidence of that. We finished bottom by miles last season and 4th the season prior. Ipswich and Leicester have every right to say their squads are better than ours firstly and thats even before we get onto the reality that nothing is played on paper except for narrative building. That said, I totally agree our squad is better than it's performing now and the manager/club should be doing better with it.
  19. I'm Lucy Pinder still, I think? I just think that we can all throw around various accusations as to who is at fault, and everyone does, but the reality is we've been through 4 managers this year and we've probably got worse each time? I'm not sure we need to do that again and think that maybe, some patience and acceptance that like the last time we were in this league that maybe allowing the players the opportunity to grow in the really long season might be the best option? We've obviously not started as well as last time, and I did try and remind people on here the manager we had last time did quite a good job, but the season is really long. I'm not saying the manager is faultless, far from it but people wanted a pragmatic manager, well this is what pragmatism looks like, when it's bad, it's really bad, but rather than just throwing everything up in the air again, I'm much more on the side of actually giving someone some time to get it right instead of changing again? The only time this club has had success under this ownership is when the manager wasn't hounded out immediately. And boy are you doing a really good and witty job of that
  20. You going to put some respect on his name yet or were you one of those convincing yourself you hated the season we actually won games and scored goals?
  21. I suggest we let someone have a proper crack at the job they've been employed to do rather than convince ourselves there's some magical button that turns everything around out there even though we've pressed it 4 times this year and have seemingly got worse each time?
  22. Demand more from the players and have a bit of patience. 4 managers we've had this year, 5 in the last 12 months. The last thing anyone needs more new ideas. In the short term, start Robinson, Azaz, Armstrong and Downs as a narrow front four.
  23. Has anyone considered that the manager might not be the only thing that dictates result? Or do we need to go through our 5th one this year to consider it?
  24. Nathan Jones fancy it?
  25. Give another manager those 8 games instead. Thats worked out well all year.
